Yuen Biao is Li San the Thief Swallow, a Robin Hood type character who steals from the rich and gives to the poor. Li San travels to Peking in search of his love who was stolen from him and sold to a whorehouse. After getting into trouble Li San finally finds Chinny, but is eventually caught.

Yuen Biao kicks it old school in this flick with some Mainland wu shu players. A fair number of good fights, but my one complaint is that they always take place at night. It would be better if they occurred at day when it's easier to see what's going on. Also at night it's easier to use doubles. Biao wears a mask when his stealing stuff and it's at night, so I don't know if it's him or a double. The fights are good thanks to the wu shu experts. With Biao as the hero I was hoping for a happy ending where he kicks everyone's ass and gets the girl, but no such luck. After finally finding Chinny, she gets killed. Li San is then wounded and later caught. He's then tied to a pole and paraded through town, the end. What kinda happy ending is that?! I guess it gets you off guard like you weren't expecting it. Li San, Theif Swallow can fly like a swallow. There are a few scenes of of people flying up a wall that looks just shots from Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, but this movie made 4 years before CTHD. They ripped of Biao's film! Yuen Biao is good as always, this movie has some good fights. Despite the disappointing ending, it's still a good movie.
