Maori Make Nine Changes
Maori coach Cameron Bell has made nine changes, to the side that narrowly beat Scotland in the first round. For the crucial game he has opted for an almost entirely new back line.

Only full-back Clinton Toopi has survived, with try scorer David Kidwell demoted to the bench, with  Boycie Nelson(Glenora) and Paul Whatuira in the centres.

On the wing is even an more amazing combination of Jarred Mills (Newton) and Steve Matthews who get a start.

A new partnership of Sydney City Roosters scrum-half Jeremy Smith and Luke Goodwin might find some room on the fringes.

In the forwards, Jamie Cook comes in for Henry Perenara, second row Wairangi Koopu is rested and Kyle Leuluai starts.  Tawera Nikau, Tyran Smith, Tahi Rauhihi  survive from Sunday's line starting line-up.

But dispite the changes Maori will start the game as favourites. Tawera Nikau will lead a volatile pack in which Rauhihi and Smith can really mix it up. Toopi(Auckland) will be ear marked as a dangerman by Samoa as he scored two of the try's in Sunday's clash with Scotland.

Still it is a big gamble by Bell making so many changes to a team in such a crucial match. One which could see the Maori as victorious and watching the Samoan's fly home, or the Samoan's victorious and the Maori wondering what went wrong.
