YOU Cards

These cards were made to add some variety to YOU: The Role-Playing Game of Tomorrow. Be sure to read the rules to that game before you make these cards.

The graphics for the cards are listed here. Hit your BACK button to return to this page once you print cards off or save each graphic as a file.

Using the cards:

These cards are meant to serve two purposes. First, they may be used to generate random numbers or otherwise help determine outcomes of uncertain events when a card is drawn at random. Here are the features for this function:

Secondly, these cards can be used to generate ideas. Perhaps they can be used while a Storyteller is preparing or adventure, or they can provide fast ideas off the cuff when an adventure goes in an unexpected direction.

Each card has a list of ten items on it. This list ranges from things that are generally good to the generally bad. A Storyteller may simply choose a word off a random card as a seed for some part of an adventure, or he or she may draw a second card and use the random number from 1-10 to help choose an item off the list from the first card. These are simply meant to spark the imagination. When used properly, they can add unexpected twists and quite possibly some humor to an adventure scene.

There is also a section on the right of the card devoted to character traits. Half of the cards have strengths that a character might possess. The other half are weaknesses or poor character traits. These can be used to enhance the depth of characters that players will encounter on adventures.

As you can see, specific uses of the cards are left much to the discretion of the Storyteller. Have fun with them. If you have a particularly interesting experience with the cards in an adventure, please write to me about it!
