Christmas Cat

September 2003

Now this is the easy part. There aren't any screen shots to go along with this as they're really not necessary. If you are having a problem with this tutorial, please e-mail me for assistance.

7 - Everything should be on the same layer. If not, merge visible layers.

8 - Use your Magic Wand tool & hold down the Shift key on your keyboard & click inside each foot to select them. Flood fill with #A19D9D. Go to Selections --> Float & apply a cutout with the following settings: horizontal & vertical offsets = 2; opacity = 50; blur = 5; color = #404040. Deslect.

9 - Use the Magic Wand tool to select the head & tail. Make sure all parts are selected - don't forget the tip of the ear! Flood fill with #A19D9D. Go to Selections --> Float & apply a cutout using the following settings: vertical & horizontal offset = 0; opacity = 50; blur = 20; color = #404040. Deselect.

10 - Use the Magic Wand tool & select the stripes. Flood fill with #404040. Go to Selections --> Float & apply the same cutout as above, but change the blur to 6 & color to #202020. Deselect.

12 - Select the hat trim & flood fill with white. Float the selection & apply the following cutout: vertical & horizontal offset = 0; opacity = 75; blur = 15; color = #808080. Deselect.

13 - Select the hat & flood fill with #C00000. Float the selection & apply a cutout using the same settings as for the hat trim, but change the color to #800000. Deselect.

That's it! Export as a picture tube or save as a transparent .gif image. I hope you enjoyed my tutorial!
