These colorful, low-fire whiteware, slip-cast ceramic mugs are individually handcrafted, (16 step process), in the arid, coulee region of Eastern Washington.

The bright underglazes are painted onto greenware then carved away by a method called sgrafitto.  After the first firing to "set" the colors (bisque fire) the ware is glazed with a lead-free, clear gloss and returned to the kiln for glaze firing.

These mugs are produced without decals, air-brushes or screens.  Each piece displays variations and small imperfections integral to the method of making
