"Continual
worry seems to be the thought pattern of modern times. There is much to worry
about if one chooses to do so. It is not that you can turn your back on problems
and serious things going on in the world. That would be dangerous. Serious
thoughts and decisions are necessary to approach situations that are new in this
time. Worrying wears down the fabric of life. It is as if a thread here and a
thread there begins to fray from over -use and then it breaks and loosens the
fabric or threads around it. You can see how this can be a domino effect as one
thread and then another and another breaks down. This, of course, has a
debilitating effect on the body, mind and spirit. How then do we deal with those
problems that cause us to worry? Faith is the foundation, but one must also
organize the mind. Too much mental clutter and thoughts do not flow smoothly.
Look at the problem or the situation. See the entire situation at a glance and
then organize it into little steps. What is the main problem? What can be done?
What are the choices? What will be their effects? Try to make it a step by step
view. If there doesn't seem to be an answer then that step must be left for the
time being. Prayer is a wonderful healer....not only for the body but also for
the mind. Clear away the clutter. Don't create a junk pile. Categorize your
problems into areas instead of one big lump. Think positively as you can under
the circumstances and remember faith is the foundation."
