| Ferret armored scout cars are used as both recon forces for military operations and armed security within Djibouti's borders. While only armed with a .50 cal machine gun, the Ferrets are primarily used as recon elements for both armored divisions and infantry brigades. |
| Djibouti's light tank battalions are formed around M24 Chaffee light tanks. Armed with 76mm main guns, the Chaffees are the perfect tank for amphibious operations and for use with quick reaction forces. |
| M1 main battle tanks are without questions, teh big dogs on the block. Able to destroy targets while on the move at full speed in rough terrain, the M1 represents the epitome of high speed leathality. While the Djibouti army has yet to field and M1 main battle tanks, it is certain that that moment will come sooner than most think. |
