With A Smile (copyright © 1999 Marc Allen)
My old ways wouldn't work on you
From the begining you could see right trough
and I guess deep inside I needed someone who could
On the night we met at the country dance
I knew you had me on your first glance
and I started thinking about things I thought I never would
as you fell asleep wrapped up in my coat on the ground
there was something about you that turned my head around
I've had loves that were only lust
I've had loves I didn't know what to make of
but I'm in the middle of something real with you
The way you look into my eyes
I already know what's on your mind
you can tell me your dreams with you eyes
and I'll tell you mine with a smile
There was a time I was working out of town
but each night I would drive back down to you
not even asking if you needed me there
each time I'd walk through that door
just to see you smile I needed nothin' more
and the way you'd say "I missed you"
with the touch of your hand
And you'd fall asleep wrapped up in my arms on our bed
there's something about you that still turns my head
