When I first asked Casey to marry me in December of 2001, I didn’t think she would be one of those girls that had this elaborate vision of her dream wedding.  And she wasn’t-- before I proposed.  Seconds after she accepted, she made up for all that lost dreaming time by immediately choosing our color scheme and casting the bridal party, beginning with her understudy/Maid of Honor.

I thought we should get married that summer-- six months after we got engaged-- and she wisely changed my mind.  She said she thought the planning process was going to be fun, so she wanted it to last longer than six months.  Casey has been so patient and generous throughout this sometimes stressful and overwhelming process, making our engagement fun for the both of us.  And she even lets me make a few decisions, too.  I got to pick the color of the limo.

Our wedding will definitely be very “us,” which is important to Casey and to me, and potentially scary for our guests.
