General description: The first digit determines the type of route:
0Grid, numbers ending in 0 are north-south routes and numbers ending in 5 are east-west.
1Spider-web, radiating in clockwise order from Beijing (101 - 112)
2North-south routes, increasing in westbound direction
3East-west routes, increasing in southbound direction
Hongkong is part of China since 1997 but it still has a separate road numbering system.
Road signs: Green with white text on motorways, blue with white text on other roads. Road numbers: G white on red, S black on yellow, A green on white.
History: The system was probably introduced around 2000.
