General description: Main roads have 1- and 2-d numbers. The main north-south route is number 13. Other numbers 1-23 generally increase to the south, but there are exceptions, e.g. route 19 is in the north. Very few 3-d numbers are known.
Road signs: Blue with white text. Road numbers are only rarely indicated on directional signage, in plain text. On kilometer markers, they appear in red with black text.
History: The system apparently originates in a common system with Vietnam, since many numbers match at the border, e.g. 7, 8, 9 and 13.
