Armin Van Buuren Back ________________________________________________________________________________ It all started in secondary school in the beginning of the 90's. Armin's big dance music in spirer in those days was Dutch Master Mixer Ben Liebrand. He bought himself 2 turntables, learned mixing quickly and soon began to create his own style. At the age of 16 Armin bought his first sampler, the Akai S-01. Although it was mono, he did everything with it that you could possibly imagine. The very first demo made was immediately included on a compilation. With the money he recieved from that deal Armin bought bigger and better equipment which resulted in his first vinyl release at the end of 1995. Since 1995 Armin has released a lot of tracks on different labels with increasing success. The first big success was 'Blue Fear' on Cyber Records. This 'Euro trance blueprint' even made it into the UK chart. On the same label he also released 'Communication' which caused serious damage in the summer of 1999. This track was signed to AM:PM and entered the UK charts ar number 18 in 2000! In the beginning of 1999 he started his label Armind with United Recordings. The first release, Gig - 'One', was very well recieved. The second release 'Touch Me' under the name of Rising Star was signed to Ministry Of Sound before the records hit the shelves and would be re-released shortly with mixes from Darude, Vincent Da Moor, Liquid Child, Reversed Twister and a brand new mix from Armin himself. Gimmick - 'Free' was signed to R&S Records and was released in the UK on Global Cuts. He also joined forces with DJ Tiesto to do 2 productions; Major League - 'Wonder Where You Are?' was released on Blackhole and Alibi - 'Eternity' on Armind. Eternity blew up instantly and was signed to Paul Van Dyk's label Vandit. A video was made and the track reached the Dutch Top 100! Needless to say that Armin has managed to put his label on the map in no time. His first compilation CD was 'Planet Disco', which showed his trancey side. Now, on his own AVB compilation series, he shows how electric he really is. 'Armin Van Buuren 001 | A State of Trance' was a huge success and was sold all over the world. Now 'Armin Van Buuren 002 | Basic Instinct' will see the light of day. On this double album Armin takes his music to an even higher level finding the perfect balance between progressive, techno and trance and mixes everything in a way that it all sounds completely unique! It also has System F. Feat Armin Van Buuren - 'Exhale', a previously unreleased track he co-produced with Ferry Corsten. Frequently check www.arminvanbuuren.com for more detailed information. Hell broke loose after remixing tracks like Wamdue Project - 'King Of My Castle', Madison Avenue - 'Don't Call Me Baby', 'Gouryella - Walhalla' and Onephatdeeva - 'Bad Habits'. He's now a highly demanded remixer and almost on a daily basis he has turned down remix requests. In the near future Armin will focus more on his own productions and will work on tracks for his Risng Star album. Armin's DJ career also took off. To be able to play venues all over the world he gave up his residency at club Nexus where he played a 5 hour set every week for 3 years (1996-1999). His 1st real big gig was the United Party which was held during the Amsterdam Dance Event `99 after which Cream, Slinky, Peach, Gatecrasher, Moscow, Tel Aviv, Tokyo, Jerusalem, Helsinki, Ibiza, Dance Valley and the Fast Forward Parade followed. |
