Hal Courteney, protagonist of Birds of Prey, has become rich by sailing on the South seas. To ensure to his four children a good inheritance, Hal decides to set out for Madagascar, attracted by the rich reward offered by the king of England for the capture of the Arab pirate Jangiri. The departure is also the occasion to bring the three youngest children with himself on the sea and therefore to rescue them from the outrages of the first-born William. During the trip, however, a harsh rivalry arises between the twins Tom and Guy, both fallen in love with the beautiful Caroline. The little Dorian, then, is abducted by the pirates and sold as slave to an Arab prince. Hal Courteney has not the strength to bring the unlucky Dorian back. It will be Tom's duty to complete the undertaking begun by his father. |
