Take it away Harold Lederman...
Rarely, as we watch boxing on HBO, do we ever get the opportunity to see Harold Lederman.  For those of you who do not know who he is, Lederman is HBO's unofficial boxing judge.  To everyone else, his voice is as familiar as his fellow sportscasters Jim Lampley and Larry Merchant.
Out of all the official judges, commentators, and analysts, Lederman always has a solid, fresh perspective on every fight.  Many people do not know that Lederman does not listen in to Lampley and Merchant's comments, instead he chooses to watch the fights with no distraction and does not let himself be influenced by the commentators.  Lederman also has the wondeful ability to not show any favoritism or the common unfound favoring of one boxer.  He consistently scores rounds fairly, and in an unbiased fashion.  Lederman sees it as it is, and says it as it is, and therefore that makes him one of the few most honest people in boxing.

Harold Lederman was inducted in the Boxing Hall of Fame on his first year of eligibility.  After serving as an official judge to many fights in mant years, Harold approached HBO with his idea of becoming HBO's official judge commentator.  HBO loved the idea and Lederman has been with the Home Box Office since 1986.

Another little known fact about Lederman is that he is a pharmacist in his day job.  He works in a ShopRite in a town in New York State.  He comes from a long line of pharmacists.  But boxing will always be his passion.
