Our 1st night in Dogon country...( spot Homer Simpson's face in the Rock face)
An Old Pigmy Village under the edge of the escarpment.
Our 2nd Night was spent on the top of the escarpment below this sacred mountain, we found out the hard way that according to local folk law that no women (Lisa and Corranne)is allowed on the mountain, and that the chief of the village had to sacrifice 4 chickens at sunrise the next day.
Whilst some of the group went back down the route from the previous night a few who were more adventourous headed down the route of the waterfall, that flows only during the rainy season.
The views simply took your breath away......
A few of us walked from the base of the escarpment out to civilization, a 12km walk to Bankass. and this was our last view of the Dogon.
