Turkey (Sept 10th - Sept 22nd)

Istanbul - the former capitol of the Ottoman empire. Its  heritage runs deep into the Culture of the citizens of this Magnificent city.

The Oldest Haman (or Turkish Bath) in Istanbul is world renowned

The streets of Istanbul are full of traders trying to earn an honest living

And the Mighty Bosphorus acts as the gateway from Europe to Asia.

The Bridge that links Europe to Asia also acts as the link for the European to Asia sides of the Turkish Capitol.

The City is Crammed along the shore line like it has done for centuries

We headed into town and visited some of the Main attractions of Istanbul

The Topkapi Palace

and The Blue Mosque

and its neighbor the church of St Sophia

and we headed to the Grand Bazaar

So we move on from Istanbul and onwards to the peninsula of Gallipoli. The weather looked ominous..

but it cleared east wards to leave our day clear to roam the battlefield of Gallipoli the Anzac troops fought courageously here and the Turks still have huge respect for the Kiwis and Aussie's, ( they don't have to pay Visa's)

So today with heavy heart we learnt that the world trade center WTC had been hit bit Planes High jacked by terrorists.
