Dear Porkers,
We
have three objectives in sending this email: 1) to
unveil the newest addition to our Pork Fashion Collection, 2)
to tell you about our special Pork Garment Combo Deals, and 3)
to announce our partnership with Boulevard Brewing Company of
Kansas City, the largest specialty brewer in the
Midwest. From Hot Springs, Arkansas, to Rapid City,
South Dakota, the fourteen varieties of Boulevard rival the
big imports. This fast-growing company now offers five
year-round beers, five seasonals, and four new Smokestack
Series beers.
In Midwestern cities, Boulevard is
hugely popular, but in teeny back-water RAGBRAI towns, it's
harder to find. We and our Boulevard reps, however, are
determined to serve up three varieties, keg by delicious
keg. This July in each Pork Belly campsite, every
afternoon and evening, our Porkers will savor Boulevard's
best-selling Unfiltered Wheat Beer, their smooth and fruity
Pale Ale, and the Boulevard summer brew, ZON, an
interpretation of a classic Belgian witbier. So as you
look forward to RAGBRAI, Porkers, add this scene to your
daydreams--you coming in from a long, hot road to a cold
Boulevard.
"PASS THE CORN" JERSEY: This memento of
your Iowa ride has been designed by the creative department of
Boulevard Brewing Company, and it captures that first hour on
the bike each morning, when the fields are dewy green and the
sun begins its climb. In the foreground are familiar
rural road signs and tall corn stalks, bearing unusual
fruit. Between and beyond the stalks are those rolling,
corn-clad hills of Iowa curving away to the sunrise.
Back: road sign declaring "PASS THE CORN." Front: Pork
Belly Ventures road sign, with Boulevard billboard at the
horizon. Left sleeve: our signature, fun-loving pig-on-a
bike; right sleeve wrapped in green corn leaves. Very
cool all-over art. Invisible 18" front zipper. Regular
sizes $90. (See order form for 2X/3X prices.) The images of
our jersey and all other garments, described below, as well as
our order form, are available at www.pkbelly.com. The jerseys run snug, so
see the sizing chart on the order form, AND
check out the special combo deals

NEW
T-SHIRT: "BE A CORN STAR" The back of this shirt
shows a plump, pink, naked pig, casting a coy,
over-the-shoulder glance before slipping between the stalks to
answer nature's call. It comes in a desert-washed, soft green
color called "peyote," 100% cotton, with a retro look and
feel, old-style distressed art in shades of green with
kernel-gold and pork-pink accents. On the front, the PBV logo
appears below the waist, with a cornstalk sprouting up to
chest level. "Be A Corn Star," (back), and "Pork Belly
Ventures, Passing the Corn in Iowa Since 1984" (front). Men's
regular sizes $20, 2X shirts $22.
NEW HOODED
SWEATSHIRT: "BE A CORN STAR" Same coy, naked pig
described above, slipping between the stalks. Similar soft
green color called "pine," 100% cotton exterior with 80/20
cotton/poly blend inside, preshrunk, hidden side pockets,
old-style distressed art in shades of green with kernel-gold
and pork-pink accents. On the front, the PBV logo appears at
the waist, with a cornstalk sprouting up to about shoulder
level. "Be A Corn Star," (back), and "Pork Belly Ventures,
Passing the Corn in Iowa Since 1984" (front). Men's regular
sizes $40, 2X sweatshirts $42.

STUPIDITY
T-SHIRT: "It's not so much the heat, it's the
stupidity." That's not a misprint. In this case, it's not
the humidity. We reprised this '80s RAGBRAI slogan, a sample
of dry Iowa wit. It comes in a soft desert-washed denim color
called "night sky," 100% cotton, with a retro look and feel,
old-style distressed art in warm colors, yellow and orange.
"It's not so much the heat, it's the stupidity," (back), and
"Pork Belly Ventures, Passing the Corn in Iowa Since 1984"
(front). Men's regular sizes $20, 2X shirts $22.
CLASSIC T-SHIRT: "Live
Like A Pig" Our classic "Live Like a Pig" shirt, in a
desert-washed mud color called "mesquite," 100% cotton, is a
must-have for every Porker! Same retro look and feel with
old-style distressed art in pink and green, wee pigs on bikes
passing the corn. "Live Like a Pig" (back), and "Pork Belly
Ventures, Passing the Corn in Iowa Since 1984" (front). Men's
regular sizes $20, 2X shirts $22.

ORIGINAL CYCLING
JERSEY, GRANT WOOD STYLE Our original Pork Belly jersey is
a favorite! The all-over art depicts Iowa's gentle landscapes
in Grant Wood's classic style, with our signature pig grinning
from the left breast and, on the back, hefty pigs on bikes
cresting a hill. With the all-over, full-color printing,
they've been the envy of the ride since the first Porkers wore
them on the road. Regular sizes are just $80. (See form for
2X/3X prices.) They run snug, so see the sizing chart on the
order form!
