Once again, we somehow pulled
this thing off. As usual we busted our butts for
days and still were scared we might not get it
done on time. And,
as usual, we did.
But, it's a great beast
of an event to do and we couldn't do it alone.
I've mentioned a few folks throughout the page
but the extent of their efforts demands
recognition here, too.
Thanks first for Yola
for being the hostess with the mostess. She is
kind enough to put up with the antics and keeps
us on a steady keel when we'd rather have another
beer.
Also thanks to Chris,
out trouble-shooter extraordinare. If it's broke
he can fix it. That's a handy talent when you've
got 300 people standing around screaming for more
alcohol.
Tom was a dervish once
again cooking, serving and explaining the finer
points of Cajun Culture to the uninitiated. Not
bad for a yankee.
Elvis brought the ever
popular King Cake. For the first time someone not
named Tina got the baby.
Many folks brought dips
and sandwiches to keep the starving hordes fed
while the turkeys were cooking. You guys saved my
life.
And we must add a
rememberance to Golf Ball Man who passed away
just before the party this year. He did a
yeoman's job every year cleaning up before and
after the party. Although he was scarcely seen he
was as much a part of this event as anyone.
He was, oddly enough,
also a Cajun as evidence by his name Tim
Thibodeaux.
Lastly, thanks to all of
you that showed up and made all this hard work
worth it yet again. It wouldn't be the social
event of the season without you.
