After our original report in March of 1987, we heard from Burton G. Mariacher. He wrote from Littleton, CO, to give us what history he had of the Colorado Brach. His father, Burt C Mariacher, lived in Lakewood CO. Burton's grandfather was Ambrose Richard Mariacher, whose brother, Albert Mariacher was Burton's great uncle. Burton's greatgrandfather came from Innsburck, Austria and worked in the mines in Black Hawk, CO. Ambrose was born in Black Hawk, and eventually moved to Denver, CO, where he spent the remainder of his life. Ambrose had two other children: George A.  and Catherine (b. 1916 in Denver), both now deceased.

During late 1996, I heard from Lori Mariacher, student at Indiana University in Bloomington. She was Albert's granddaughter. Her father Robert Mariacher, married to Rosie Arbeliaz, and had three daughters and one son. Her sisters lived in Georgia and her borther lived in Indianpolis.

This year, 2001, I heard from Gayle Moyle, from Westminster, CO, who provided the following information:

I have information of Mariacher's in Colorado. Some information is from family, some is from gravestones which backup family information. I have photos of headstones, but no scanner or  whatever a person needs.  I have not gone as far as census documentation of any kind yet. The following are buried at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Wheat Ridge, CO:

George Mariacher born Tyrol Austria 23 OCT 1863, d 22 JUL 1912 pneumonia; a Woodman of the World (what is a Woodman of the World?) an unusual tombstone with three logs on top, 2 crosses and the middle one is a picture of some kind with the words "Dum Tacet Clamat". Married Margaret Mathes born Bavaria, Germany 6Apr1870 d 1949

Children:

My husband is Garry Moyle. These following names are from my mother-in-law's family. My mother-in-law is the daughter of Alma V. Mariacher and Charles S. Mc Lain. Elizabeth Mary Mc Lain b Denver, CO 28 Mar 1921 married Oct 1940 Raymond William Moyle b 6 May 1920 d 28 Mar 1992). Alma Mariacher and Charles S. Mc Lain's other 2 children are Charles Stephen Mc Lain, Jr. b 29 Aug 1921 and John Edward Mc Lain b 18 Nov 1925.

Burton G. Mariacher also e-mailed you in March of 1987. These are all related. After I finish this, I will think of a better way to have listed these. Suggestions?  I have left out some descendants. Yes, please do whatever like with this information and you can mention my name and email address. Thanks for sending to Otto Schwartz. I did find  mention of a daughter Catherine to Ambrose R. Mariacher. I think they only had 2 children George A. and Catherine. I can't remember her married name but I will try to find that out. I also have names and dates of my husband's generation and his mother's that I will put together and send later. Actually, there are 4 generations, our children and their children. Funny how it just grows and grows and you think going back is hard!
