Brief biography of research activityResearch work was my favorite activity since childhood. In high school of extensive learning of physics and mathematics (¹ 30, St. Petersburg) I conducted research work in astronomy “Generation of spiral structure in galaxies”. That research won the first prize at St. Petersburg’s city research conference for high school students and was evaluated as the base of future thesis for PhD by St. Petersburg University’s astronomers.
When I was a student of Physics Faculty of St. Petersburg State University I began to work with high school students at the Extracurricular Activities Center for Youth and Children as a teacher of extracurricular education. Due to this work my research interests focused on the field of human development and potential of formation of worldview and world perception via education. I organized and led activities to foster multidimentional personal development of youth. Since 1994 I developed 3-year program “A person and the Universe" including courses in mathematics, physics, astronomy, philosophy and psychology as well as the psychological trainings, trainings in gym and outdoor trips. My educational background (teacher of Mathematics, outdoor instructor, gym trainer, yoga teacher) and self-education in related fields (philosophy, psychology) was the base of program development. That program for multidimentional development of teenagers and youth was an approach for Sustainable Development of a person in connection to the entire World. In 1995 I was awarded with the Honorary Certificate for outstanding service and innovative activity in many years and received promotion to the highest level as a teacher.
At the same year I got MS in Mathematics at the State St. Petersburg’s Pedagogical University. My thesis “Movements of space and planes in Lobachevsky’s geometry” contained new approaches to solutions for some equations. This helped me to develop and conduct the special extracurricular course on Lobachevsky’s geometry for high school students in the frames of my program. The other program for youth and adults developed in 1994 called “Spiritual Backpacking”. It was designed to harmonize the inner world and outer relations with the entire World via connection with Nature. It increased level of health, spirituality, ecological awareness of students and provided personal Sustainable Development. I had presented this program in 1997 at Woodleaf Outdoor School, California, USA, and in 2000 at the Sustainable Development Conference in Leeds.
In 2001- 2004 I was a doctoral student of the State St.Petersburg’s Academy of Postdiploma Pedagogical Education. My activities and programs developed helped me in research of human perception's mechanism, it’s participation in worldview formation, and made conclusions on effective ways of the most effective approach to the world reflection in the human consciousness. All of that led to research work in the field of Global Education. I developed conception for new type of thinking for new millennium, evaluation system and technology for its development. It was evaluated as a high standard by professors in Russia, UK and Finland. In 2004 I got a PhD in Education (Pedagogy).
I hope the outcome of my research contains the potential of the next higher level of Global Education and Sustainable Development. That is why the next level of my activity I should be international. This could give me an opportunity to make a significant contribution to effort of humanity in overcoming the global crisis at all levels of human life at the planet and in particular in Russia. |
