I think link and zelda shouldn't marry, they are
bro. and sis. (I do know that it was custome to intermarry in the same
family to keep pure blood in the royal heredity, but still, this could
be different from USUAL midevil and ancielt history) also, I don't
think Ganon(or Ganondorf for that matter) should die forever, if you don't
have Ganon, you don't have Zelda. It's like bread and lunchmeat, not
good without each other (remember what happened in MM, and LA wasn't the
greatest either) anyway, these are just ideas, and you DO have good
ideas on your story for Zelda GC....[Ed- Why thank you! =)] Romani (5 - 9 - 01) I wish we could have at least SOME masks. They did make the game fun. And the Master sword, Slingshot, Bow and Lens of truth should DEFINITLY be back. Also, I wish we had the Magic powder back. It was a tradition of Zelda(Yeah), and It would be sooooo cool to see cuccos and Dogs explode, and Stalfos turn into Mice!! ahahahahahahaha! Also, I wish there was a new Item that can read minds, like the Mask of truth! Mariner (5 - 9 - 01) Setting- 2 years after the Adventure of Link. Hyrule is still in a recovery stage, but is getting better. Link is a knight of Hyrule, and is actively courting princess Zelda. He controls the Triforce, and is expected to be the next king. The plot kicks off with Roam. (Roam, by the way, was a character in Nintendo Power's Link to the Past Comic series. He's my inspiration). Roam's a noble, proud, decent, strong, skilled, all around good chap, with one tragic flaw. He resents Link's rise to power, his seeming lack of discipline, and just a hint of jealousy thrown in. He is, for all extensive purposes, a competitor. Also, there is a "cult of Ganon" (for lack of a better term), consisting mostly of the remaining underlings, that remains a threat. They have recently become more of a nuisance, for unknown reasons... Anywho, Roam challenges Link's right to the Triforce. He makes some pretty bold but realistic claims. The player should have a nagging doubt of Link, yet still see Roam as being a jerk. Roam then recalls the legend of the Master Sword, that only one who is pure of heart can wield it. He suggests Link prove himself by finding the sword of his ancestors, and thus prove once and for all that he is worthy of the Triforce, the throne, and the princess. Roam, meanwhile, plans to find it himself. So off Link embarks... Then we get into traditional search and collect Zelda gameplay. Link has to find the three stones/pendants/whatever conveniently located in three dungeons with a rather useful item hidden away in each one. There will be villages, mainly Hylian (we'll get into the other races later). During all of this he meets up with Roam a couple times, just to keep him in your memory. You also hear of a mage in one of the villages who disappeared not too long ago. But that's just a little foreboding. After the three dungeons/random side quests/a couple mini dungeons, you make your way through the Lost Woods to the Master Sword. Roam arrives at the same time, and you fight your first "mini boss," Roam himself. The fight will be similar to the Dark Link battle, or the Spaceworld Demo. You defeat him, but not before he gives you a particularly nasty cut. Meanwhile, the aforementioned mage shows up, conjures up some spell to knock you out, grabs some of Link's blood, makes a huge speech about the return of Ganon, and leaves. Through some dialogue or flashbacks or something, the game reminds you (or tells you for those who don't know AoL), that your blood is the key to reviving Ganon, and that this mage is the leader of the cult of Ganon. Roam's last breath before he falls to unconsciousness tells you to pick up the Master Sword and go after him. You do, all doubts to your ability disappear, and you charge off. He escapes up the Death Mountain range. In order to follow him, you must break a magic seal. Only two people can break the seal, two of the ancient sages I suppose (ick, this is starting to sound greatest hits-ish), and they have already been conveniantly imprisoned in seperate dungeons. So, you free them, and climb up Death Mountain. You meet the Gorons, who have remained secluded for all these years, and they help you in some way. Anyways, you climb through his castle or dungeon, and meet with him as the Ganon revival ceremony is in progress. He sends someone after you, and you have a mini boss to defeat. You defeat the monster, and move towards the mage. The mage has finished the ceremony and attacks you, and you have to try to beat him before Ganon revives. This will be similar to an Aghanim/Ganondorf fight. You don't, of course. The mage dies, andGanon is revived through the mage's dead body. Zelda shows up, and protects you from him. Ganon flees for now, but he is amassing his army. Zelda takes you to a sanctuary nearby. She says that with the revival of Ganon and a new evil, new powers have arose within her. She teaches you how to use the Triforce effectively, and the Triforce becomes a usable item (albeit special and limited). She also tells you that because Ganon was revived while you held the Triforce, which means he also has some of its magic. In effect, he's more powerful than ever. Zelda doubts that silver arrows will work anymore. This all takes place over a couple of weeks, allowing for noticeable changes in the land and the people (due to the new war with Ganon). This is the turning point, much like Link's entry into the Dark World in LttP or when Link grows up in OoT. You've covered pretty much all of the terrain by now as well. The rest is backtracking and reaching previously unattainable places through the Triforce and other items. The rest of the plot is pretty straightforward. More collecting from dungeons. You will also revisit towns (some will be destroyed or even occupied, allowing for some Gerudo like infiltration) There is a rather interesting side quest where you meet the Zolas. The Zolas are the descendants of the Zora, and are hostile to Hylians. However, you need their help for something, so you have to win their trust. They come to understand you and agree to enter the war on the side of the Hylians (considering they were enemies 2 years ago, this is pretty impressive). You'll meet or talk to Ganon a couple times, in hopes of giving him some actual character development. Also, you will hear rumblings of another hero, helping out at times. Zelda will appear occasionally, giving helpful advice and stuff. Basically, she'll be another Sheik. These moments will be very personal, focusing more on Link then on the quest. So, you've collected everything necessary to defeat Ganon (whatever they may be, I'm not imaginative enough). Before you set off, Roam comes to you. He was the mysterious hero (duh). He tells you that he believes he found a powerful weapon, a silver sword, that will be useful to defeat Ganon, but he needs your help. You put aside your differences and enter in a "co-op" sort of mode. It's sort of like the Kafei part of MM, but much more complicated. You find the item, and he decides to accompany you to Ganon's hideout. However, while you were in the last dungeon, he attacked the castle, and the king and Zelda are scheduled to be executed. Uh oh. So you go back there with him, and free the two. Ganon had returned to his hideout by this time, and Roam and Zelda accompany you to him. All three are present at the final battle. Roam and Zelda help out occasionally, but you are the main attacker. It ends, Ganon dies FOREVER, Link and Zelda marry (making Link the new king), Roam and Link put aside their differences as Roam becomes the new hero, the Gorons and Zolas and Hylians all reconcile, and you know the next major Zelda game will offer a completely new experience. |
