A Link To The Past | ||||||||||||
A Link to the Past was the long awaited Zelda game for the Super Nintendo. And it lived up to its 8-bit Nintendo predecessors. The graphics and sound were, of course, excellent. And the game itself was phenominal. The plot unfolded as the game went on like a true role playing game. Zelda played a bigger role in this game than before, appearing at many points within the game. And the game itself was long. There were 13 levels (the sewers, 3 pendants, the castle, 7 crystals, and Ganon's tower). Compare that to all the other games. There were 9 in the first, 7 in the second, 8 in Link's Awakening, and 11 in Ocarina of Time. There were 2 entire worlds to explore, and numerous people to meet. Plenty of weapons were found in the game, many more than the first. Although many enemies were present in the first game, there were many new ones as well, and they proved to be difficult to beat. To top it all off, this game introduced peices of heart instead of entire heart container peices, thus allowing more to be hidden. With all of these additions to the game, not to mention a detailed history of Hyrule and the origins of Ganon, Link to the Past proved itself worthy of the Zelda name. | ||||||||||||
