Ah, the most controversial Zelda game since... Ocarina of Time.  Whereas most of the Zelda community has accepted OoT, we're still divided over this newest and strangest game.  So I'll make my stance clear.  Majora's Mask was well worth the wait.

Majora's Mask gave us everything we wanted- a new game to hold us over until the GameCube game gets here.  It was not epic, it was not as revolutionary, but it was still high quality.  The game may not have dealt with the Triforce or Zelda or Ganon, but it was still amzing.  The three day time limit gave a certain amount of suspense but gave enough leeway not to make it a problem.  It also gave the game a very nonlinear feel.  You could do whatever you wanted during those three day.  You can hang out with Romani at the ranch, go swimming in the sea, or help out Anju and Kafei.   Whatever you want.  And the dungeons were amazing.  There may have only been four, but they were quite difficult.  Not to mention more enemies.  The swarm of Keeses under the tombstone was remarkable.

The game wasn't perfect, of course.  My biggest complaint would be the repeated stuff from Ocarina.  Granted, the new archery game and the new race were fun, but what about the Deku Shrine?  I've done that before.  Fortunately, it was held to a minimum.  The repeated graphics had little effect on me, and I loved the sound (Classic Overworld Theme!!!).  As for the plot, I will admit it was not as good as its predecessors, but I'm not complaining.  It was still a good story, and a lot better than waking up a Windfish.  As for the masks, my only complaint was the uselessness of many of them.  I never used the hog mask.  The Bremen Mask was used once.  There was practically no point to the Gorman Mask.  But on the whole, the mask system was used quite well.

The verdict?  A fun game.  An immensely fun game.  A game that gave us a bit more of a challenge.  A game that gave us a breather from the Triforce saga.  A game that let us see a more personal view of Link, especially through the eyes of Tatl.  A game that was beautiful n every sense of the word.  A game that was well worth the wait and the hype.  A game that made its mark as the sixth chapter in the ever growing Legend of Zelda.
