Adventures of Link: Magic
For the first time, magic came to Zelda with the Adventures of Link.  And there is more magic here than in any other Zelda game.  Here, you can protect yourself, gain more life, jump higher, and allow your sword to shoot out flames.  You receive one new magic spell per town.  Most of the time, there is some task you must do first, from rescuing children to giving someone water.  Using spells take up magic, however.  One bar of magic has 16 magic points, and you can have only a maximum of 8 bars.  So use it wisely.
