Earth/Sky Features
Here you will find what makes this Zelda game different from the many others you have played in the past
Connection
As you have probably heard by now, these two games will be connected more than any other Zelda games in the past.  It's much like a two part series.  But the connection goes much deeper than that.  Certain events in one game will have an effect on the other.  This is accomplished through a password system.  You will still save your game directly to the cartridge like every other Zelda game; the password applies only to changes between the two games.  When you accomplish some goal in one game, you recieve a password.  Then when you play the other game, you enter the password, and certain changes are made.  There have been no examples so far, but I'm sure you can think of some.  There are infinite possibilities of enhancing gameplay and certainly replay value.  Say, for instance, that there is a collection miniquest (like seashells or gold skulltulas) in each game.  What if you get an ultra secret item if you complete both?  Or what if the amount you have can count for either game?  In general, this will be one of the most unique aspects of these games.
Rod of the Four Seasons
Picture Coming Soon
As the Ocarina was important in OoT, masks important in Majora's Mask, so is the rod of the four seasons important to these two games.  Basically, the rod changes what season the game is in.  You can have snow if you want: just change the season to winter.  And the seasons presumably affect gameplay to some extent.  Some areas of the game might only be accessible in certain seasons.  For instance, heavy snow in winter may block off a mountain in your path, but might allow you to walk across the lake to an island.  Or an item in the trees might be hidden in spring and summer, but you could see it in autumn.  We can be assured thst the rod will be an important item in your quest.
