This is an important place of pilgrimage and shelter is
available here. Buses reach here directly from NASIK and a flight of steps
lead directly to the temple. The top is almost 6 Kms long. The real source
of the Godavari river is located at an ancient temple on its upper
plateau. A narrow passage in the rock is cut 4 to 6 feet with 300 steps.
