CHAUL

This old Portuguese settlement, located 40 Kms south of Bombay, was secondary in importance to Bassein. The Portuguese settled here in 1522. You will find Forts, Churches, ancient Buddhist caves, temples and the ruins of an old Portuguese Palace here.

	Reach REVAS from Bombay's Ferry Warf and to ALIBAG from Gateway of India.
	It is a short ride from any of these places to CHAUL.
	One can also reach here by road on the PANVEL and PEN road.
