VASOTA FORT

This fort lies in bear infested jungles. It is inaccessible except by a long and arduous trek. It has two forts, the old and the new. It is possible to visit the new fort through thick jungles.

Getting here:-

	Reach SATARA by bus or train.
	There are many routes to reach the new fort.
	Catch a direct bus to KAS lake (24 Kms).
	Proceed 6 Kms ahead to HUMNE village via ANDHARE (4 Kms) on the banks of the KOYNA lake, walk 3 Kms to WAGLE village. Here a small ferry is available to KHIRKUNDI village. Walk 3 Kms to VASOTA village atop an intervening ridge to reach the new fort.
