MARION COLOMBO, RNP

Marion Colombo was raised in New Hampshire and attended Boston Children’s Hospital School of Nursing/Northeastern University (Boston, Mass.) graduating in 1976. She then worked in Newborn Intensive Care Units (NICU) for five years in both Colorado and Maine.

Changing the focus somewhat, for the next eight years Marion worked in Labor and Delivery units. The first five years this was in New Hampshire. Marion then joined a travel nurse agency working in various L&D units in South Carolina, Maine, New Hampshire, and several in California. While in California Marion met her husband and decided this was a good place to settle down!

While in California she decided to go back to school and was awarded her Nurse Practitioner Certificate from Education Program Associates through San Jose State University in 1991. She is a certified Woman’s Health Nurse Practitioner with a special interest in Infertility.

Marion joined the Permanente Medical Group in 1991. She is trained in the field of Infertility and Ultrasound through Kaiser Permanente in Santa Clara.

Together Dr. D’Amico and Marion have worked with the National Institute of Health in several of their clinical studies. One of these studies, Efficacy of superovulation and intrauterine inseminations in the treatment of Infertility was published in New England Journal of Medicine (Jan.1999 vol.340 number3). Marion was also a reviewer for the book Management of the Infertile Woman by Helen Carcio (1998).

Marion is married, and shares the parenting of three children. She enjoys being with her family as well as traveling, swimming, reading and playing with the computer/internet!
