Graphic Design Activity       Grade     7/8  


 

(Making a CD cover)

Aim:                     

Use a graphics application to produce a piece of work. 

Objectives:                  

Explore the functions and potential of tools offered by a specific software package.

Experiment with layout design.                   

Produce a design.                

Complete the finished product.

Materials:           

Instruction sheet.  (Paper or electronic on server)

Method:           

 Students are given a choice as to which application they use.   (Photoshop, Paint...)

They will be given a generous allocation of time because the process is more important than the final product.  

 They will also be encouraged to learn from those around them.  

Peers could be asked for advice, strategies, assistance and about techniques.      

Evaluation:   

  Students could assess their own work and that of their peers using criteria that they consider relevant .  

A display should be set up to act as a model (and inspiration)  for further  Graphics activities.
