Charm of California Poppies

California poppies are the flowers ot California.
Though they are not new for me anymore because they bloom anywhere in spring, I still like them very much.
At the end of the humid rainy season, when it is getting warmer, they notify us that spring has come with showing bright orange flowers.
It could be compared to the feeling of Japanese peeple when they see cherry blossoms.

They are hardy annyals, and the best seeding period is autumn.
It is recommended to seed in the container directly, because they do not like to be transplanted.

Watering

To think of the climate in California, California poppies may need lots of water in winter, while they prefer to be dry in summer.
Water throughly after seeding until they bloom, and decrease watering after the flower.
