After stepping into Weaver’s room Amber heard the familiar sound of retching and vomiting coming from the bathroom that was just a few feet away from the bed. She closed her eyes to compose herself for a moment wondering if Weaver was still sick from her little session with Romano, that’s when she noticed the tequila on the table with the two shot glasses. She wondered who was in there drinking with Kerry as she stepped towards the bathroom resting her hand lightly on the crutch that was leaning on the wall just outside of the door. Inside she saw Kerry kneeling by the toilet and Abby was there holding her hair back looking absolutely spent.
“Kerry?”
“Don’t,
don’t come near…” Weaver was interrupted by another vomiting spell but finally
she pushed back from the toilet after flushing it and rested her head against
the cold tile wall behind her, “Don’t come near me.” Abby glared at Amber, she
couldn’t believe that someone who claimed to love Kerry so much would put her
through an ordeal like that. Amber stayed in the doorway as she was asked but
that didn’t mean she was going to stop talking.
“Kerry
I’m really sorry I…”
“Really
sorry?” Abby stood up and walked towards Amber, she grabbed her by the arm and
pulled her out into the bedroom shutting the door behind her, “Really sorry
Amber? REALLY SORRY? I can’t even…you just…how could you…OOOO!” She was so
angry she couldn’t even say what she was thinking so instead she punched Amber
as hard as she could in the jaw. Amber wasn’t prepared for such an act and she
stumbled back but remained standing, because of her background in hand to hand
combat she was used to taking a punch.
“Alright,
I deserved that but…”
“Oh
no…no…no…no…no Amber…you deserve much more then that.” Abby turned and picked
up the crutch that was leaning against the wall and held it tightly in her
hands like a bat and she was obviously ready to swing. Amber backed up and got
into a defense stance but she would soon find out that it would be of no use to
her because Abby was faster then she thought.
“Put
that down and talk to me rationally…okay Abby?”
“I’m
tired of rationality…you are going DOWN!” Abby swung the crutch around and it
slammed into Amber’s head, hard enough to knock her down and cause ringing in
her ears, “I am SO SICK of you…SICK AND TIRED OF YOU!” Abby then nearly saw red
and she started to beat Amber, unmercifully, hitting any part of Amber’s body
that wasn’t protected by her hands until finally Amber stopped moving because
she had passed out. Abby swallowed hard and looked at the crutch in her hands
and then dropped it and backed away. “Stay down…like the fucking dog that you
are.” She muttered before going back into the bathroom to check on Kerry.
Luckily
before Abby could get out of the bathroom with Kerry, Amber had regained consciousness
and had pulled herself into the hallway but she was sure that at least one of
her ribs was broken. Her head was pounding and her nose was bleeding, but
instead of thinking about how much pain she was in, she thought about Susan instead.
At first she thought her ears were ringing but she soon figured out that it was
her watch beeping, it had been fifteen minutes and she had to get back to check
on Susan. She pulled herself down the hall leaning on the wall for balance, and
finally she made it into the room where Susan was actually sitting up and
watching TV.
“Oh
my god…” Susan started to get up but then she remembered that she couldn’t
walk, and it took every ounce of strength in her not to get up and walk to
Amber anyway, “What happened to you?” Amber limped over to the bed, cursing
herself for not being more prepared, for not being able to stop Abby from what
she did, but at the same time she knew that she deserved it.
“Abby…beat
me…I’m sorry.” Amber collapsed on the bed but she didn’t pass out, she stared
up at Susan with glossy eyes and she was breathing hard, after a moment she
rolled onto her back and slid up into a sitting position hoping it would help
her to breathe easier. Susan opened the bottle of water she had sitting on her
lap and handed it to Amber, Amber looked down at it and took a sip of water and
then handed the bottle back to Susan, “You need this way more then I do.”
Without turning her head she reached blindly for the box of painkillers that
was sitting on the bed side table and pulled out the first needle she found,
followed by the first vial of pain medication. She held it out in front of her,
but she was currently seeing double and she couldn’t read what it said, she
resisted the urge to just load the needle and inject it anyway by lazily
dropping both the covered needle and the vial in Susan’s lap.
“This
is demoral, do you want me to give you some?” Susan asked after she picked up the
bottle and read the label, Amber nodded not able to answer, she wasn’t sure she
actually needed any pain medication but she knew that a dose of demoral would
keep her from acting irrationally, and it would definitely keep her from trying
to kill herself. Susan nodded and loaded the needle and then injected it into
Amber’s arm. Amber felt a slight burning sensation as the medicine entered her
body but that was soon replaced with a wonderful euphoric feeling. She closed
her eyes and smiled before resting her head on Susan’s shoulder and letting
herself drift into sleep. Susan sighed and put her hand gently on Amber’s head,
and stroked her hair soothingly, wondering what she was going to do if Amber
decided to give up.
“WHAT
DID YOU DO TO HER?” Romano’s voice echoed through the hall as he caught up with
Abby who was heading towards the kitchen to make dinner, she had completely
forgot about the surveillance cameras that were in every room, she had also
forgotten that Romano was probably watching her every move as she beat Amber
senseless. Abby didn’t stop walking or even turn around to acknowledge him, she
knew she was in trouble and she decided that she was going to try and stall for
every second she could. “I’M TALKING TO YOU!” Abby bit her lip and took off
running down the hall, she didn’t know exactly where she was going to go, or
what she was going to do but she knew that she had to get away from him. She
completely under estimated how fast her was, and a moment later he had caught
up to her and tackled her to the floor where he pinned her down.
“She
deserved it!” Abby screamed at him trying to get away, amazed that a man with
only one arm could keep her pinned down so well, “I DON’T REGRET IT FOR A
SECOND!”
“Oh
you will when I get through with you.” Romano growled, he pulled a needle from
his pocket and injected her with whatever was inside, she gasped as she felt it
injected into her and passed out quickly there after. Romano smiled and stood up;
he certainly had his work cut out for him.
When
Abby woke up Corday was checking her vitals, she groaned and moved out of the
way and forced herself to sit up. She was in a different set of clothes and she
knew that she had been violated because she could feel something had been
inserted inside of her…it was big and most likely metal…but she didn’t know
what it was or how it got in there. Corday sighed and looked at her for a
moment before getting back up herself and moving to the couch where she was
before Abby came in, and then she picked up her book and started to read it.
“There’s
something inside of my…”
“You’ll
get used to it…just remember not to piss Romano off.” Corday muttered barely
even looking in Abby’s direction, “You are lucky I convinced him to put it
there instead of in your ass.”
“You
mean you watched him do it…and you didn’t do anything about it?” Abby swallowed
hard, the room was spinning as the sedative started to wear off. “What is it exactly?”
“Another
one of Romano’s sick ideas for controlling us…” Corday replied still not
looking up from her book, “he has a remote and if you make him mad he presses a
button and it sends out a shock…he did it to me twice and I passed out from the
pain…it makes you feel like you are burning from the inside out…definitely worse
then child birth so I wouldn’t recommend talking back to him any more.”
“That’s
just…” She put her hands to her head and rubbed her temples slightly trying to
make the spinning stop, “I hate him.”
“Join
the bloody club.”
“Were
you really going to kill Weaver if I left you in there with her?” Abby
whispered and then laid back on the bed deciding that it was a bad idea to try
to stand up right away.
“No…but
I would have beaten the crap out of her.” Corday replied and then she turned
the page to her book before leaning forward and picking up an unopened bottle
of water and tossing it in Abby’s direction, “I know your mouth is dry…but don’t
talk to me any more I’m reading.” Abby caught the bottle of water and glared at
Corday for being so rude to her. She opened it up and took a small drink
because she didn’t want to get sick by drinking too much at once, she laid back
down to rest her eyes for a moment but only succeeded in falling back asleep.
