Sex, Lies And John Carter
Part I
When Weaver woke up her throat was dry and her head was pounding, she knew that it had to be the result of getting drugged. All she remembered was sitting down to have coffee with Carter and now she was in some really nice bed in what she guessed was his house. She groaned and rolled over looking for anything that would tell her the time but the room was basically empty except for the bed she was on and a table in the corner. She was still in her clothes from work that day so she wasn’t very worried about being raped. She sat up slowly and looked around, there was one light on the ceiling and it seemed way to bright for her at that moment. She instinctively reached for her crutch on the side of the bed only to find that it wasn’t there. She groaned and laid back down resting her face on the cool pillow, she was laying on top of the covers but she wasn’t cold, in fact she was sweating a little. Idea’s started to flutter into her head about why she was there and even though she didn’t think Carter was behind this she knew that it wasn’t normal to all of a sudden wake up in a bed with out an explanation. She thought about how for the past few months Amber and Abby had gone missing, completely missing, almost as if they had vanished with out a trace. Of course there were people looking for them at first but as they passed the six month mark they were assumed dead, that was if they hadn’t started a new life somewhere else. She suddenly heard someone at the door to the bedroom and the door unlocking. She turned her head feeling very anxious to see who was about to come in to greet her. The door opened a crack at first to let in some more light which only cause Kerry’s head to pound more and she groaned a little and put her arm up to shield her eyes. The person came through the door and closed it behind them.
“Kerry,” That voice was so familiar but her brain couldn’t put a face to it and she finally lowered her arm to see who it was. To her surprise it was Amber standing there in a tight leather dress and knee high black boots and even though the position Kerry was in was rather unusual and probably dangerous she couldn’t help thinking about how hot Amber looked, “Welcome to John Carter’s estate.” Her voice was hallow she seemed like she was in a little daze her voice was soft and kind but at the same time it seemed like she was in a trance.
“Amber?” Weaver whispered and then she sat up and swung her legs over the bed, her head was still pounding but she was more worried about talking to Amber then how she was feeling physically, “You’re alive.”
“Yes.” Amber walked over to her and pulled out a pair of handcuffs, “Please turn around and try not to struggle.”
“What?”
“Please do as I say or I will have to hurt you.” Her voice remained the same tone as it had when she first came in but in that way it seemed all the more creepy. Weaver took a deep breath and turned so she was kneeling on the bed with her hands behind her back. Amber moved in an latched the cuffs tightly over each of her wrists and then took a step back. “You can walk with out the crutch right? John said you could but you would be slow.”
“What the hell is going on here?” She pulled at the cuffs wishing that she wouldn’t have given into Amber so easily, “Is John the one behind this?”
“Stand up please.”
“NO! I WANT ANSWERS!” She turned to look at Amber who blinked a few times before backhanding Kerry, not as hard as she could, but hard enough to get her point across. Weaver’s head turned with the force of the blow and her head lowered slightly as she felt tears spring to her eyes. Amber grabbed her by her forearm and in an amazing show of strength she pulled Weaver to her feet and turned her towards the door. Weaver had no idea that Amber was that strong, but now she had that to consider and she guessed that she wouldn’t be fighting her off any time soon. She helped support Weaver with a firm grip on her arm as she walked her towards the door.
“Master Carter and Mistress Lockhart would like to see you.” Amber said as she pulled open the door and forced Kerry out into the hall with her. Kerry couldn’t believe what she was hearing, and she figured that this just had to be some sort of crazy dream, how could this possibly be happening to her? She was forcing herself not to cry she wasn’t going to cry it would only make her seem weak. She remembered how attracted she had been to Amber when they were working together, and she also remembered how she was about three seconds away from asking Amber out before she disappeared and now she was here and alive but Kerry couldn’t think of anything to say. Amber walked with her slowly down the hall, it was really tiring her our to limp down the long hallway with out any other support then the grip Amber had on her arm.
“Carter and Abby? They are doing this?”
“Yes they are.” Amber’s voice still didn’t change from the soft trance like state it was in and this was beginning to frustrate Weaver. “They spared my life and if you are good they will spare yours.” Weaver shook her head slightly as if to clear it, now she knew that she had to be dreaming. She then stumbled forward because her knee wouldn’t lock and she fell, she was surprised that Amber had let go of her instead of holding her up. “Get Up.”
“I don’t think I can…”
“GET UP!” Amber grabbed her by her hair and slowly lifted her to her feet, “They are in the room at the end of this hall you can make it, lets GO!” She then replaced her grip on Kerry’s arm and started to pull her forward but this time she wasn’t gentle. They finally reached the room at the end of the hall where Carter was sitting at a table with Abby having what looked like breakfast leaving Kerry to wonder how long she had been out.
“Glad you could join us Kerry.” John said in a voice that was laced with mock excitement, “Did you enjoy your coffee last night?”
“Why are you doing this? What the hell is wrong with Amber? And…” Weaver started to scream when Amber shoved her to the floor rather hard, Weaver turned so she wouldn’t fall completely flat on her face, so instead she landed on her shoulder with a pained whimper. “Damn you Carter.”
“She’s cute when she’s mad.” Abby said and then laughed slightly before picking up one of the delicious looking grapes that were on the table in front of them. Amber stood with her back perfectly straight and her hands locked together behind her back in a standard at ease military position. “What are we going to do with her?”
“I don’t know yet…but it’ll be fun.” Carter responded and then he looked at Amber, “Are you hungry my pet?” She nodded slightly and he motioned for her to come over to the table as Weaver forced herself up so she was now kneeling instead of laying on the floor. She watched as Amber got down and knelt by Carter’s chair and he handed her an apple.
“Thank you sir.” Amber said softly and she looked at the apple, “May I eat it now?”
“Yeah sure why not…I’m in a good mood this morning.” Carter replied and then smiled at Abby who returned his expression with a smile of her own. Weaver arched her eye brows and she was unable to comprehend what was going on. The Amber she remembered had a major attitude problem especially when it came to men, even nice guys like Carter but now it was apparent to her that Carter wasn’t the angel she thought he was. She had to admit that this secret life he was leading intrigued her slightly but at the same time she most definitely didn’t want to be a part of it. “How are you feeling Kerry?”
“Screw you!” She spat at him and out of the corner of her eye she could see Abby move almost like she was about to come over to her and slap her and so she winced slightly in anticipation but the hit never came.
“Hmm, the drug is still wearing off I don’t want to deal with her while she’s irritable like this.” Carter said and then he stood up from his chair, “I’m going into work when I get back I’m going to have to explain all of the rules to you…today is the first day of the rest of your life Kerry.” He nodded in Abby’s direction and then walked out of the room. Abby continued to eat and so did Amber and it continued this was until there was silence for about fifteen minutes. That’s when Abby looked up from her food and over to Weaver.
“Amber dear could you go get Kerry a glass of water?” Abby said to Amber in a rather nice tone of voice, Amber nodded and then got up and left the room. Abby waited for just a moment before coming over to Weaver and getting down to release her handcuffs. “Oh god you are the first normal person I’ve had contact with in months.”
“What the hell is going on here?”
“I don’t know, there’s something wrong with him it’s like he just…snapped.” Abby explained and she helped Weaver up and walked her over to the table and sat her in one of the chairs, “Amber is totally messed up he has her on some kind of drug but he won’t tell me what it is…but I can tell you if she knows I’m talking to you like this she’ll tell him.”
“Well no shit there is something wrong with him!” Weaver said in a hushed but harsh whisper, and Abby took a deep breath and let it out slowly, “Why aren’t you like Amber? Why isn’t he drugging you?”
“Because I decided to play along with it to avoid getting beat up.” Abby replied and she reached for her glass of orange juice and took a long drink, “Amber was very stubborn and after watching what she went through with him I just knew I wouldn’t be able to survive that.”
“Well what are we supposed to do? Do you think I should just go along with this too?” Weaver replied and she picked up an apple and took a bite out of it, “I mean is there anything we can do?”
“The phones are all locked with a security code and so are all the doors, not to mention the fence which is six feet tall and electrified.” Abby muttered before she ran a hand through her hair and then pulled a cigarette from her pocket and lit it, “The only thing I can think of is taking him down…physically.”
“Well gee Abby…do you think any one of us is strong enough to do that? Even with the both of us together I highly doubt…”
“I know, that’s why we need to get Amber back she’s a fifth degree black belt but,” Abby took a long drag from her cigarette and then exhaled it slowly, “She sleeps in the room with us and…well it’s less like a sleep and more of a meditative state, she keeps her eyes open. At first I thought it was just something to scare me but if I move even just to turn over her eyes follow me.”
“If she’s a fifth degree black belt she could take both of us down with out even breaking a sweat. How are we going to get her to snap out of it?”
“Well that’s where you come in…you need to distract Carter so I can switch the drugs so he is only injecting her with a saline solution but there are two problems that come along with that.” Abby took another hit from her cigarette, “One is he keeps the drugs locked up, I know the combination but they are still a pain to get too, secondly you are going to have to keep him busy for quite a while for me to do this.”
“Wait a minute…” Weaver swallowed what she had in her mouth, “Why do I have to distract him.”
“Do you think he’s going to let you walk around this house with out supervision? Besides you don’t know where anything is and you can’t run.” Abby explained and Weaver knew she was right but she was beginning to wonder what distracting Carter might actually entail. She put her hands to her face and rubbed her eyes slightly and then looked up at Abby.
“Why don’t you just do it when he’s not home?”
“He has security monitors in every room he will receive an automated phone call if I enter that room, on his cell phone. When he is here he turns the message system off and if you are distracting him he most certainly won’t be worried about what I’m doing.” She replied before snubbing her cigarette out in a near by crystal ashtray.
“What kind of distraction do you have in mind?” Weaver asked but then there was a noise of a door opening and footsteps in the hallway/
“She put a sedative in your water get back on the floor now.” Abby commanded in a urgent but soft tone of voice, Weaver didn’t question it she knew that Amber could take them both down in an instant and if they wanted any chance of escape then she was going to have to do what Abby wanted. She got down on the floor and Abby put the handcuffs on her but not as tight as they were before, “You are going to fall asleep again and you probably won’t wake up until Carter gets back but remember do what ever it takes to distract him.” She whispered into Weaver’s ear before she went back and sat in her chair, at the last moment she reached over the table to the apple Kerry was eating and took a bite out of it herself, she certainly didn’t want Amber to know that she had been letting Kerry eat. Amber stepped into the room and looked around, after deciding that there was nothing suspicious about the current scenery she walked over to Weaver who was kneeling on the carpet in the same spot she was before. She got down and brought the glass of water she was holding to Weaver’s lips.
“Drink.” Amber said, finally Kerry was able to look into her eyes only to see they were glazed over and her pupils were a little more dilated then they should be. She didn’t know if she wanted to pass out again but at the same time she didn’t want to take her chances with Amber so she opened her mouth. Amber gently tilted the glass forward and Weaver started to drink, she was amazed at how thirsty she actually was she didn’t even feel thirsty till the water hit her tongue. Finally Amber pulled the glass back it was still half filled with water but the sedative was already kicking in…and Weaver’s eyes began to droop. She opened her mouth in a yawn and then gently lowered herself to the floor letting sleep overtake her body once again.
When Weaver woke for the second time she was on the same bed but this time Carter was in the room with her along with Amber. It took her a moment to remember how she got there but Abby’s voice resounded in her head telling her to do what ever it takes to distract him.
“John, what…”
“Shhh…” He put his finger to his lips and walked over to the bed and sat down next to her before he reached out and started to stroke her hair. “Now…you don’t want me to have to hurt you…right?” He sort of nodded trying to get her to nod yes along with him. She looked at him for a moment and once again Abby’s voice reminded her to do whatever it took, and she thought that maybe a few minutes of humiliation would be worth her freedom. She nodded with him and he ran his fingers through her hair one last time before standing up, he walked over to a chair that was across from the bed and picked up a glass of brandy that was sitting on the table next to it and took a sip.
“What do you want from me?” Weaver whispered looking at Amber who was already starting to get undressed in a rather sensual strip tease. She stood in front of Carter and unbuttoned her shirt one button at a time, she slid off her shirt and let it drop to the floor to reveal she was in a black lace bra. She ran her hands over her perfectly formed breasts massaging them gently and moaning just slightly before turning to look at Weaver. She moved her ass in some unheard rhythm that was completely enticing and Kerry wasn’t able to tear her gaze from the dancing beauty in front of her. As Amber continued to massage her breasts she reached to the center of the bra and unclasped it from the front and then let it fall giving Kerry a perfect view of her chest. Carter seemed completely content with watching Amber’s ass move and even though he was in the room Kerry couldn’t help but get aroused by this sensual display. Amber then turned back so she was facing Carter and she unzipped her black leather skirt and slid out of it slowly, letting it run across her perfectly toned and silky smooth legs, every inch touching her perfect skin until she was only in black lace panties and black stiletto heels that arched her foot in an impossible but sexy way.
“Amber has been so lonely you know,” Carter spoke finally his voice was completely composed considering that he was watching this woman undress in front of him, “And well Abby has no idea what she is doing with another woman, although I can’t deny the wonderful skills she has with the male body…anyway I brought you here to pleasure Amber and keep me entertained.”
“Excuse me…”
“You don’t want to be hurt do you? You know I won’t hit another woman but Amber certainly will.” He smiled at her and Amber turned to look at Weaver, he then slapped his hand across her firm ass and bit his lip, “God I can’t wait to see this.”
“Listen Carter I’m not even…”
“Amber…do what you have to in order to get her to comply.” Carter said before picking up his snifter of brandy and taking another sip from it. Amber smiled at Kerry, and Kerry swallowed hard wondering what doing what she had to would entail. Amber walked towards the bed and stopped at the foot off it where she slid off her panties and tossed them behind her where they landed on Carter’s lap, it was almost as if the move had been rehearsed. The only thing remaining on this woman’s perfectly formed body was her black heels and it didn’t look like she was planning on taking them off, which made Kerry feel like she was trapped in some sort of high class porno. Amber climbed onto the bed and crawled towards her with a hungry look in her eyes and it was clear to Kerry that she wasn’t going to give in.
“Listen to me you little bitch…I’ve had to pleasure him for six months with out so much as a glance from another woman so you are going to eat me and you are going to like it…understand?” Amber growled loud enough for Carter to hear and he smiled, a rather big amused smile he was hoping to see Amber finally assert her dominance over Weaver she had been so submissive with Kerry at work and now she had her chance to take over. Kerry didn’t know how she was supposed to respond to that but before she could even think of what to do next Amber shoved her down onto her back and straddled her face, her hot folds were nearly dripping with arousal and it was clear that she wanted this. Weaver swallowed but hesitated, she didn’t know if she actually wanted to do this, especially not in front of Carter but when Amber grabbed her by the hair and shoved her face up it was clear she didn’t have much of a choice. She closed her eyes and tried to clear her mind, but soon her tongue went to work curious as to how Amber tasted. She was amazed at how much this was starting to turn her on, she could barely keep her hands from roaming over her own body to provide pleasure. Her tongue traced the wet folds of the younger woman’s sex hungrily and she pushed her mouth up more trying to take in as much as she possibly could. She barely noticed that Amber’s nails were digging into her skull, mostly she didn’t care, and she kept at it licking eagerly. A few moments later Amber cried out, up until that point she had been completely silent except for a few little sexy grunts that escaped her lips, Weaver guessed that it had something to do with what Carter liked her to do during sex. Amber started to grind down slightly when suddenly Weaver took her tongue and flicked it over Amber’s hard exposed clit. Amber screamed loud enough for the neighbors to hear and they were more then a mile away. She held Kerry’s head into her until she had finished with her climax and Kerry had finished licking her completely clean. Amber let out a long breath and climbed off of Kerry and fell down onto the bed next to her. Kerry was breathing hard and for just a moment she forgot that Carter was there so she leaned over and kissed Amber, who did not hesitate to kiss her back just as passionately it was almost as if just for a second she actually was aware of what was going on.
“Kerry come over here darling.” Carter’s voice interrupted their brief but oh so wonderful romantic interlude. Weaver’s mind was completely engulfed in arousal almost to the point where all she could think about was getting herself off. She stood up from the bed and turned to face him, he smiled at her and motioned for her to come over. “Crawl for me.” She didn’t know why, but she found herself getting down onto all fours and crawling to him like a cat in heat. She hadn’t had any kind of sexual contact in a very long time and now it seemed like that’s all her body wanted and she suddenly began to ache for his touch. She made it over to him and climbed up into his lap before kissing him just as passionately as she had kissed Amber just moments before.
“Oh god John…”
“Shhh…” He put a finger to her lips gently and smiled, “You want me to fuck you right?” She nodded in agreement with him, “Then ask for it.”
“I…uh…” At first she couldn’t get the words to come but then she took a deep breath and swallowed hard, “John, would you please fuck me?” Even she could hardly believe that she had formed that sentence but it didn’t matter any more because he was already undressing her. When he got her shirt open he stood up and carried her over to the bed and laid her down by Amber who was sitting up slightly recovering from her powerful orgasm just a few moments before. After laying Kerry down he straddled her and too off her bra before working on her black slacks. He unzipped her pants slowly and teasingly, making her arousal burn hotter with every second that he took. Finally he had her completely naked, and he ran his hands gently over her magnificent chest and down her beautiful stomach and then her thighs. She groaned and arched her back her body begging for his touch. He smiled at her reaction and quickly undressed himself before sliding his very hard cock into her tight little body, she was so much smaller then him and he liked that…it gave him a feeling of power. She moaned loudly and wrapped her arms around his neck, then surprisingly enough Amber leaned over and started to kiss her, she hesitated for just a second and closed her eyes kissing back. She didn’t think she had ever felt this much pleasure, Amber’s hands roamed Weaver’s body as her tongue explored her mouth and as Carter thrust in and out of her in a steady rhythm. She continued to moan even as the kisses became deeper and stronger and she knew that she was very close to going over the edge. Then almost as if Amber knew she slide her hand down to Weaver’s exposed clit and stroked it softly, in an explosion of sheer ecstasy Weaver screamed out turning her head away from Amber’s mouth to draw in air, the tightening of her body was enough to send Carter of the edge too and he groaned her name as he came hard, she could feel his hot seed spill inside of her and she actually liked it. He waited a moment before pulling away from her and getting his pants back on.
“Amber would you like to stay here for the night?” Carter said in a sweet voice as he started to put his shirt back on. She nodded happily and he smiled back at her, Weaver laid there in a state of being completely content and at the same time ready to drift off to sleep. “Have a good night you two…I’ll see you in the morning.” And with that he left the room closing the door behind him, locking it only just to be sure, but Weaver wouldn’t have left if he had kept the door wide open. She finally had found a place where she wanted to stay even if it meant being controlled by two of her co workers.
The next morning Weaver awoke to an amazing breakfast which was laid out on a table not far from the bed, it was close enough that she could walk to it with out her crutch. Amber was asleep next to her leaving her to wonder who brought them breakfast in the first place. It smelled so wonderful, there was everything there and she couldn’t believe how hungry she was. She carefully got out of the bed so she wouldn’t disturb Amber and pulled on the elegant silk robe that was draped over the chair at the table before sitting down to eat. Amber groaned softly and then rolled over, her eyes fluttered open and they quickly focused on Weaver. She was, amazingly, still wearing those incredibly sexy black heels.
“Good morning Kerry.” She said with a smile on her face, she climbed out of the bed making no attempt to cover her naked form and all at once Kerry felt herself becoming aroused again. She looked back to her food even though she could feel her face getting hot, and the space between her legs getting even hotter. Amber walked over to the chair and pulled on the robe that was provided for her and then sat down and started to eat. At first Weaver didn’t really pay attention to what her roommate was doing but when she looked up she saw Amber’s beautiful lips wrapped around a strawberry and she bit into it slowly.
“Uh…did you sleep okay?” Weaver finally stuttered before forcing herself to look away from what Amber was doing with her mouth. Amber finished chewing her strawberry and then she reached forward and dipped her index finger in the bowl of fresh whipped cream that was in the center. She brought the finger to her lips slowly and licked it off, keeping direct eye contact with Kerry the whole time.
“I slept well, I miss my real master though…Carter was just borrowing me. You know the truth is I don’t really hate men, well not Carter or…” She smiled and trailed off almost as if she was purposefully hiding the name of the other man so she wouldn’t shock Kerry.
“Or who?” Weaver could only imagine who this other person was, and she was thinking that he must be one hell of a man, not only in bed, but all around. Amber seemed to like playing the little slave girl, the little victim, but on the other hand when given the chance she really knew how to take control of things.
“Carter wasn’t my original master, I don’t think I’ll be here for much longer.” She picked up her glass of orange juice and took a sip, “He brought me here to help train you but I don’t think you are going to need much training…you like the domination don’t you.”
“Well I wouldn’t say that I…”
“Don’t bullshit me Kerry.” Amber replied as she set the crystal glass down on the table and reached for another strawberry, “You were so horny last night and I can guarantee you it had nothing to do with the sedative I put in your water.”
“Wait a minute, you were acting so weird yesterday…like…”
“Like a zombie? Kerry there comes a time in life where you realize that fighting back is going to get you no where…besides if I tried anything don’t you think Abby would have helped. Not to mention the fact that he matches me in martial arts training.” She popped the piece of fruit into her mouth and started to chew it carefully.
“But if you weren’t originally with him, who were you with? Are they partners of some sort?” Weaver replied, she opened a packet of sugar and poured it into her coffee and then started to stir the hot liquid absent mindedly.
“Originally I entered into this slave training thing thinking that I would belong to only one man.” She picked up another glob of whipped cream on her finger and licked it off, Kerry was starting to wish that she wouldn’t do that because it was turning her on to no end. “But then he leant me to Carter to help with you. At first I didn’t want to do it but then when they told me that I would get to taste your sweet skin, and feel your lips pressed against mine I couldn’t resist.”
“Amber stop avoiding…tell me who this other man is.” Weaver demanded before taking a sip of the coffee and setting her cup back down onto the white china plate in front of her. Amber took another bit of whipped cream and slowly raised her finger to her mouth to lick it off when Weaver’s hand darted out and grabbed her wrist.
“What are you doing?” Amber replied, her voice soft and sexy almost as if she was more turned on then threatened by this action. Weaver took in a deep breath and licked her lips before leaning in and taking Amber’s finger in her mouth, sucking the sweet cream off of the other woman’s finger gently. She then sat back down and smiled almost wickedly. Amber’s body shuddered slightly with arousal and she crossed her legs elegantly before speaking.
“You’ll find out, soon enough, I promise.” And with that she winked at Weaver and stood up pulling her robe tighter, “I’m going to take a nice, hot, bubble bath now. You can join me when you are finished if you wish.” She then turned and walked towards another door that was in the room and stepped inside of it, but not before dropping her robe and giving Weaver a very nice view of her perfectly toned ass. Weaver swallowed hard, her eyes focusing on the tattoo on Amber’s lower back, it seemed to be some kind of intricate script, maybe a name but with out her glasses she couldn’t read it. The door shut slowly behind Amber, and a few moments after the water started to run, Weaver made her way into the bathroom, there was no way she was going to pass a chance like this up.
After the bath time fun Weaver was sitting on the bed and in front of her sat Amber, she was brushing her hair gently wondering who this other man could be. She thought that it was most likely Luka, it was hard for her to picture anyone else talking her into doing something like this. Amber sighed softly and then yawned, she turned her head to look at Weaver and smiled. Almost as soon as she did that the door to the room opened and Abby was standing there looking pale.
“He’s here Amber…” She muttered not looking at either of them, she then turned and left the room and headed down the hallway slowly. Amber squealed with delight and got off of the bed before adjusting her skin tight black dress and making sure her boots were laced up nicely.
“Come on Kerry he’s here.” She grabbed Weaver’s arm, Weaver was dressed in jeans and a white shirt with a black sweater over it, she had found a whole bunch of her own clothes in the dresser that sat by the window in the room. Feeling a little nervous about the way things were going she stood up and Amber helped her out into the hall. Abby was ahead of them, she was walking very slow and shaking her head slightly. Weaver could hear her talking, but she was obviously talking to herself, and no words could be made out.
After about five minutes of careful walking they entered the lounge that was at the bottom of the first set of steps. Weaver instantly froze when she finally saw who the other man was, it was none other then Robert Romano and for a moment she thought she was going to be sick. Abby entered from behind them and Amber smiled and ran over to him and literally leapt into his lap.
“Nice to see you too.” He said to her before lifting his good arm to stroke her soft hair, Weaver couldn’t find any words to say so she just leaned up against the frame of the door and closed her eyes. She started to pray that this wasn’t happening, that none of this was real, she didn’t want to even think about what Romano might have in store for her. “Get over yourself Kerry I wouldn’t touch you with a six foot pole.”
“He’s not here for you he’s here for Amber.” Carter said, he stood up from his chair and walked over to Kerry and pulled her into the room, “Don’t worry I wouldn’t let him touch you…ever.” Weaver was a bit relieved about that but she was still nervous, there was no way she wanted Romano to see her like this. Carter sat her down on the black leather couch that was in the room and then sat next to her putting his arm around her trembling form.
“I don’t know what you see in her.” Romano muttered and then pulled Amber into a passionate kiss. Amber kissed him back with equal passion and Kerry shuddered, wondering how such a wonderful woman could fall for such a devious man. “She can’t even walk.” He muttered when he pulled away from Amber, his voice was soft but that didn’t mean Weaver couldn’t hear what he was saying.
“Well I’m going to need help with her training you know.” Carter smiled and started to stroke Weaver’s hair, “And since I really can’t see my self being firm with her I think you might be of some help.”
“Excuse me? Training? What training?” Weaver’s head snapped around to look at Carter but he just continued to play with her hair and ignore what she was saying. “CARTER!”
“You only speak when spoken to…” Romano said in a firm voice and then he made a hand motion at Carter and Carter surprisingly backhanded Weaver. Weaver cried out and put a hand to her face, she looked over to Abby who was just sitting in her chair looking out of the door like she was thinking about making a run for it. Amber giggled and ran her hand over Romano’s cheek and then down his chest before leaning in and kissing him again.
“Do you know how sexy you are?” She whispered to him, Weaver’s face burned from the blow and now her stomach was knotting as she watched Amber turned into a giggling school girl for Romano. She started to contemplate this whole training thing and she wondered if Abby had to go through it or not. Abby seemed to be in her own little world for the time being and Weaver made a mental note to ask her about it a little later.
“What? So you want me to stay here for a few days and whip her into shape?” Romano asked Carter with a rather sly smile on his face. Weaver’s jaw dropped slightly for a moment, then she closed her mouth and her lower lip started to tremble slightly. There was no way she was going to let Romano whip her into shape, or touch her, or even treat her like she was less then human.
“Yeah if you have nothing better to do.” Carter replied nonchalantly, he removed his arm from being around Weaver and leaned forward putting his elbows on his legs and then his chin in his hands. Amber smiled and continued running her hand over his chest gently, like she was completely oblivious to what was going on. It was hard for Weaver to believe that Amber wasn’t drugged, or brainwashed, but something was going on. Whatever it was it didn’t seem to really effect Abby, unless she was just pretending to be brainwashed to avoid getting hurt. In any case Weaver didn’t know if she could take being “Trained” by Romano, but on the other hand she didn’t think she could pretend to be trained by him either. She felt a tear escape her eye and she brushed it away angrily, her cheek still stinging from the slap.
“Are we still going with the plan to bring in Dr. Lewis and Corday?” Romano asked as he let his hand trace over Amber’s neck and then her chest gently. Amber groaned softly much like she did when Weaver had touched her. When Kerry heard him say that she blinked a few times and looked at Carter wondering if all of this was true. If it was, what the hell did they plan to do with two more women? What the hell did they hope to accomplish? Kerry’s mind started to spin with all sorts of questions which she didn’t dare ask because she was afraid Carter might hit her again if she spoke out of turn.
“Yeah I know I can get Susan here but…”
“Don’t worry I’ll take care of Lizzie…we are having dinner tonight I assured her it was strictly on a friendly basis.” Romano said with a serious look in his eye and Carter looked back for a moment before they both broke into an almost sinister laugh. Weaver put her head in her hands for a moment and tried to keep herself from breaking down into sobs. After she took a few deep breaths she looked up to Abby who was now staring at the floor also trying to fight back her tears, causing Weaver to wonder if she knew more then she was letting on. There was definitely something wrong with Carter, this wasn’t like him at all, and that’s exactly when she started to suspect Romano.
She had never trusted Romano, ever, and she wondered if he wasn’t above some how brainwashing Carter and Amber into doing these crazy things. What better target then a man who has tons of money and a reputation that no one is going to question? It was clear to her that John wasn’t the same person she knew six months ago, neither was Amber. The only one who seemed to retain some sort of normality was Abby, but she was doing a pretty good job at hiding it from the rest of the world. She told herself that next time she was with Carter she would have to talk to him about all of this, but they would have to be alone in order for her to bring this up. Little did she know that being alone with Carter was going to be almost impossible over the next few weeks, because Amber was brought in to keep Romano’s sick plan in motion.
The next morning when Weaver woke up her hands were tired behind her back and her ankles were tied too, to top it all off there was a gag in her mouth. She was still on the same bed she had slept in the night before but when her eyes focused she saw Amber and Romano standing at the foot of the bed.
“Watch this…” Romano said to Amber and then he moved slightly like he was going to hit Weaver, Kerry winced and closed her eyes but he didn’t even touch her, “She’s scared of me…how about that?” He looked at Amber and laughed, she laughed along with him and Weaver felt her stomach turn once again. “Alright Kerry Amber is going to remove the gag only if you promise not to scream or bite.” Weaver glanced over at Amber for a moment and then back to Romano before nodding her head yes. Romano smiled at Amber who quickly got on the bed and pulled the gag from Weaver’s mouth gently.
“Why are you doing this?” Weaver whispered as she slowly inched herself as far away from Romano as she possibly could. He took a seat on the edge of the bed and looked at her for a moment, his eyes reflected only pure evil.
“I’m doing this to YOU because I hate you. I’m doing this to everyone else because well…what man doesn’t want three sex slaves?” Romano replied and then he laughed slightly, “You will be here with Carter for a long time, and trust me it’s not going to be fun. Maybe all of you should have taken this into consideration when I lost my arm…poor Romano can’t do anything any more…well who feels stupid now?”
“Romano I never said anything like that about…”
“SHUT UP!” He swiftly backhanded her, “Don’t talk unless I ask you too…and no you may not have said that out loud but your eyes…it was always in your eyes.” He growled and then stood up, Amber looked at him with concern and empathy Weaver just felt plain anger at this point. She struggled against her restraints but they were tight and she soon realized that she wasn’t going to get them off unless someone helped her, so there was no use in struggling because she would just hurt herself.
“Romano you are mistaken,” Weaver growled risking the possibility that he might hit her again, “I never felt sorry for you…I felt that you deserved it!” She sneered at him and that’s when she was hit in the jaw with his fist as hard as he could bring himself to hit a woman. Weaver cried out and fell back onto the bed she tried to keep her eyes open but the pain was too much and soon she was dead to the world.
When she woke up the first person she saw was Abby who was sitting next to her putting ice on her face, as far as she could tell there was no one else in the room with them. At first she couldn’t even remember what had happened but it slowly started to dawn on her that there might not be a way out of this. She groaned and turned her head so she was looking at Abby and then forced herself to sit up slowly.
“Something’s wrong with John.” She said softly trying not to move her mouth more then she needed too, she took the ice pack from Abby and held it on her face herself. It hurt to breathe and she couldn’t figure out why considering she was hit in the face. She winced and put a hand to her side wondering what was wrong, she slowly lifted her shirt to reveal two large bruises on her side extending to her back and over her stomach.
“I know there is something wrong with John, he’s addicted to pain killers again. As for you, you are lucky I came in when I did I had to pull Romano away from you.” Abby said to her and then she saw back on the bed and looked in Weaver’s direction, “He wants to kill you and I don’t think there is much stopping him. So are you willing to do things my way to get out or are you going to continue to be stubborn?” Weaver took in another shallow breath and swallowed hard, she had only been there for a few days but Abby had been there for months and so she decided it was high time she started to listen to Abby’s plan.
“Okay…fine…what’s the plan?”
* * *
“Lizzie it’s so nice to see you again.” Romano said as he entered the bedroom where Elizabeth was placed. It was considerably nicer then the room Susan had been placed in but that was only because he liked her more. Corday groaned, the sedative still hadn’t worn off and her head was throbbing the last thing she wanted to do was talk to Romano. He walked over to the bed and sat down next to her and right behind him was Amber ready to pounce on Corday if she decided to try anything.
“What do you want from me Romano?” Corday whispered, she brought her hands up to rub her eyes trying to force her body out of it’s tired state even though she knew that it had been drug induced. Romano leaned forward and started to stroke her hair gently, through the course of the night some one had taken it out of the messy bun she had it in for surgery.
“For you to end up exactly like her.” He motioned in Amber’s direction and Amber smiled at Corday like everything was as normal as it should be.
“Amber? You’re alive?” Corday whispered she was just as surprised as Weaver was when she had found out the few days before.
“Yes…and I feel better then I have in years.” She stepped up towards the bed and then set herself down in Romano’s lap before planting a kiss on his cheek. Romano turned his head to smile at Corday and then he wrapped his good arm around Amber. “This is going to be fun I’m going to have a new toy to play with.”
“Toy? What the hell are you talking about?” Corday spat as her brain started to register what was going on. She felt her stomach turn and she was almost positive she was going to be sick, it was probably just a side effect from the drug they had given her. She closed her eyes and pulled her knees up to her chest and took a few deep breaths to calm her body and stomach.
“Don’t worry Elizabeth after training you won’t get so sick at the idea.” Romano said and then he pulled out a syringe which had a clear liquid in it. Corday felt her body begin to shake and she tried to inch herself away from Romano but she couldn’t move fast because her head was pounding so terribly. Abby had been in there long before Romano had gotten to her, and Abby had explained her plan to Corday and then Susan, telling the both of them to distract Romano and John for as long as they possibly could so she could take care of switching the drugs with saline. Once John started to inject himself with the saline solution he would come down from his constant high, which Romano had started again by drugging Carter’s coffee day after day. After a while Romano became the provider of the drugs and since Carter had such a dependency on them he was willing to do almost anything for his next fix. Amber on the other hand was on a drug that shut down a lot of her higher brain function and made her very open to suggestion. Once she was injected with the saline solution she would be able to use logic once more and hopefully realize what she had been doing. Remembering what Abby said about keeping Romano busy Corday sucked up her pride and lowered her knees. She then repositioned herself so she was crawling towards Romano and then she pulled him into a kiss. Romano kissed her back with equal passion and for the moment Amber slipped off of his lap and sat on the edge of the bed where she lit up a cigarette. Romano planned to keep Amber in there for the time being because she was practically his body guard. Corday told herself to continue no matter what she had to do because she knew that it might be her only chance of getting out of there, and she most certainly didn’t want to end up like Amber.
End Part IIII
While Corday was busy distracting Romano and Susan was having her time with Carter, Abby snuck into Carter’s room and started to refill every syringe she found with saline solution. She knew that this wouldn’t fix their problems right away but she did know that once Carter couldn’t get a fix and Amber was sobered up things would start to change. She realized that the saline might have a placebo effect on Carter which she could deal with but there was no way it would have that kind of effect on Amber. She found every needle, everyone Carter thought he had hidden from her. They were in drawers, behind mirrors, taped under the table just about every place that was small enough to hide one. She barely made it out of there in time and she returned to her spot in the lounge and lit a cigarette forcing herself into another zone like state. She smiled just for a few moments it was all over, now she was just going to have to wait.
The next morning Amber woke up next to Romano, her head was spinning and she was in a cold sweat. She didn’t quite understand why she was feeling this way although she knew that there couldn’t be a good reason for it. Her mind and vision were clear for the first time in months, she was actually able to hear herself think and it scared her a little. She looked over to see Romano laying asleep next to her and everything came flooding back but this time she was in a rational state of mind there was no more drug in her system. She sat there for a moment rocking herself back and fourth before she knew she was going to be sick and she ran into the bathroom and emptied her stomach in the toilet.
On the other end of the house Carter was also in a cold sweat, thinking that Abby was asleep next to him he opened the drawer to the bedside table and pulled out one of the needles that had been tampered with and injected the liquid into his wrist. He almost instantly started to calm down, thinking that the solution in the needle was in fact a small dosage of morphine but he was wrong. Abby’s back was too him but her eyes were opened slightly, she knew what he was doing and she smiled before shutting her eyes again.
Meanwhile Susan, Elizabeth, and Kerry were all asleep in the same room, Susan had opted to take the couch that was across from the bed. Abby had already been up early and had delivered them breakfast, which was now sitting on the table only a few feet away from the couch. Susan was the first to wake up seeing as how the couch wasn’t very comfortable to sleep on. She yawned and stretched a little before her eyes focused on the food that was in front of her, and she couldn’t believe how hungry she was. She was fast asleep when Abby had delivered the food so she didn’t know where it came from but that didn’t stop her from pouring a cup of coffee and biting into one of the muffins that sat in the center of the table. As she ate she picked up the news paper that had been set down there and started to read, trying to keep her mind off of what was really happening, when she noticed Corday bolt upright in bed. She stopped chewing and looked in Elizabeth’s direction before watching her get out of bed and making a mad dash for the bathroom, where sounds of retching followed. Susan continued to eat and a few moments later there was running water and the sound of a toilet flushing.
“What’s for breakfast?” Corday’s voice sounded from behind her, Lewis turned her head to look at her before going back to reading the paper.
“Did you just puke?” Lewis asked her after taking another bite of the muffin she was holding in her hand. She blindly reached for her cup of coffee and took a long drink, the temperature of the coffee was just right and she knew that the food couldn’t have been sitting there for very long.
“Yes…Yes I did.”
“Are you okay?” Susan took a long sip of her coffee before setting it back down on the glass topped table and turning the page to the newspaper she was holding.
“I’m fine, realty just hit me…you know…what I did for Romano yesterday to distract him.” She shuddered slightly and then sat down across from Susan and poured herself a cup of coffee. “Who brought us the food?”
“I don’t know it was here when I woke up.” She replied and then flipped over another page to the news paper as if she was looking for something. Finally her eyes rested on a headline that read “5 County Doctors missing” that was what she was looking for. She started to read it, wondering if anyone had any leads as to where they were but since there was absolutely no foul play involved in getting them there it just looked like they had all picked up and left for better things. She finished the article and sighed wishing that for just once the police would actually do something useful.
“What is it?”
“Just an article on us vanishing…and they used the most out of date picture of me they could find.” She folded the newspaper and handed it over to Corday who skimmed the headline briefly before setting the paper back down on the table. “This plan of Abby’s better work or we are all screwed.”
“Oh, so she talked to you too?” Corday said as she stirred some sugar into her coffee, she brought the cup to her lips slowly and took a sip, smiling slightly at the fact that it was flavored coffee. She looked over the huge arrangement of foods that were set out on the table and decided to have some strawberries and whipped cream, she wanted to take it easy on her stomach.
“Yeah, she’s the only reason why Carter got a blow job from me last night.” Lewis responded and then shuddered before looking over to Corday, “Do you think it’s going to work?”
“Well if it doesn’t I know that Abby is going to get her ass kicked.” Corday muttered and then popped a strawberry into her mouth, “There is no way I’m doing any of that stuff to Romano again willingly.”
“I hear that.” Lewis replied and then she finished off her coffee when she noticed that Weaver was awake and sitting on the edge of the bed just staring out of the window. She had been there longer then Corday and Lewis and she was starting to feel like nothing was going to get them out of there. Around her right eye there was a bruise, and the injuries on her side, back, and stomach made it even harder to breathe this morning. She groaned slightly and made her way to the third chair that was at the table and sat down slowly, the other two women looked at her.
“What happened to you?” Susan asked her sounding only slightly concerned not realizing the seriousness of the situation yet. Weaver poured herself a cup of coffee and took a long drink, she didn’t know if she wanted to tell Dr. Lewis and Corday exactly what had happened to her, she was completely humiliated by the whole thing.
“Romano kicked the crap out of me when I told him that he deserved to get his arm chopped off by a helicopter.” She replied, her bottom lip was still swollen so it was a little hard to understand her but her point was made and the other two women looked at each other wondering how long it was going to be before Romano beat the living hell out of them.
Romano woke up to the sound of Amber puking in the bathroom that was located just a few feet from the bed. He groaned and cursed softly because she was being so loud before rolling over and looking at the clock. It was 8:30 in the morning, he sighed and forced himself to sit up and then get out of bed to see what was wrong with Amber. He walked into the bathroom and got down next her where he pulled her hair back gently while she vomited. She was shaking terribly and crying just a little bit which made him think that she had just some how contracted a virus. She finally finished and pushed back from the toilet and rested her head against the cold tile wall. Even though she was shaking her body was burning up, she was scared, no not just scared, she was terrified and she didn’t know why. She finally opened her eyes and turned her head to see who was in the bathroom with her and when she saw Romano she nearly screamed.
“Hey, Hey, Amber it’s just me sweetie you’re sick.” Romano whispered to her as he very gently pushed some hair out of her face. Neither of them knew that the drug he thought he had given her the night before was no more then saline. To him she seemed completely disorientated but he chalked that all up to the fever that she had, or seemed to have. She couldn’t remember how she got there, where she was, or why Romano was calling her sweetie but whatever the reason was she knew it couldn’t be good so she decided to play along with him.
“I’m sick.” She muttered and he helped her to her feet slowly, she walked over to the sink and grabbed her tooth brush and started to brush her teeth. He stood behind her with a look of genuine concern on his face, now she was sure that it was better not to question what was going on.
“I know…I know…” He pushed some of the hair that was in her face behind her ear, “You need some fluids or you’ll get dehydrated I’ll be right back and I’ll tell Carter that you aren’t up for training today.” He nodded at her and then left the bathroom, she rinsed out her mouth wondering what the hell he meant by that but her body ached and when she saw the bed wasn’t far from the bathroom she walked over to it and laid down. She grabbed the remote control from the bedside table and turned the TV on, she did this when she was sick because it usually took her mind off of how bad she was actually feeling.
“We are going on day three of the missing doctors, Susan Lewis and Elizabeth Corday went missing three days ago, another Doctor, Kerry Weaver, went missing four days ago. On top of that there seems to be a pattern with missing county general doctors, for six months Abigail Lockhart and Amber McKay have been missing.” The reporter stated, she was standing in front of the doors to the hospital and Amber could see Carter behind her yelling at people but still nothing was making much sense to her. The report went on to flash pictures of her and her co workers and just as it begun it was over. Amber started to think, she knew she wasn’t really sick with a virus because it felt more like a drug withdrawal then anything. She remembered a few years back when she had shattered her leg in a car accident and how she felt when they finally took her off of the morphine. She changed the channel so she was watching cartoons, she needed something totally stupid to take her mind off of things, she thought it would help her head to stop spinning.
“Here I brought you some orange juice it’s fresh squeezed compliments of Abby.” He set the tray down on her lap in front of her and she looked at the food for a moment.
“Abby’s here?” She whispered before putting her hand to her forehead to rub it softly, he looked at her strange and then nodded, “Where am I again?”
“Carter’s place…” He put his hand to her forehead himself, she was warm but not nearly warm enough to cause her to be delusional. He shrugged it off knowing that viruses caused different people to act different ways and then he sat down next to her. He was being so nice, it was hard for her to believe that this was the man she used to work with.
“Carter’s place…right.” She muttered before taking a sip of her juice, she didn’t want to drink or eat but as a doctor she knew that it was important to get liquids into her system after she had been sick like that. If Abby was there it made her wonder if there was any connection to Susan, Kerry, and Elizabeth, maybe they were there with her too. She didn’t want to sound too suspicious so she phrased her next question carefully, “How are Lewis, Corday, and Weaver doing?”
“Fine, Kerry’s recovering from the injuries I gave her…god that woman has a mouth on her.” Romano replied and then laid back down next to her. Amber almost choked on her drink when she heard that but she knew she had to pretend like everything was normal, even though she didn’t know how normal was supposed to be. She was going to have to play off having a virus for a little bit before she knew exactly what was going on there. “I have to get into work…” He leaned in and kissed her forehead just as gently as he had held her hair back in the bathroom, “Feel better okay?”
“Yeah…I’ll get some more sleep.” She replied hoping that sleep would help her remember what had happened and most importantly why she had been drugged to the point of having withdrawal. She watched him get up and grab some clothes and go into the bathroom, when he came out he was dressed for work and she forced a weak smile at him.
“If you need anything you can call Abby on the house line.” He motioned to the phone that was by the bed then he smiled at her and left. She forced herself to wait twenty minutes before calling Abby, she was watching the clock waiting for each minute to tick by, she knew she was going to have to wait until she was sure that Romano had left. She knew Carter was at the hospital because she saw him in the background of the live news report.
“Abby?” She whispered after picking up the phone and dialing the in house line, luckily Abby was the only other person in the house who had access to the phones.
“Amber? Is that you?”
“Yeah…it’s me alright…do me a favor and get your sweet ass up here and tell me what the HELL is going on!” Amber growled into the phone before slamming it back down onto the receiver. Her head started to pound again, almost unbearably and she curled up into a fetal position and put the cold pillow over her head for a moment trying to make it subside. Soon Abby entered the room holding two aspirin in her hand for Amber to take. It wouldn’t make her feel completely better but it would stop the terrible headache she was experiencing.
“Amber?” Abby asked after she stepped into the room and shut the door behind her, “Are you awake?” Amber groaned and moved the pillow from her head and looked over to Abby, squinting her eyes because they weren’t yet adjusted to the light. Abby held out the pain killers to Amber, who hesitated but then grabbed them and downed them with a swig of OJ.
“What the hell is going on here? Where are the other? And why the FUCK was I sleeping with Romano?” Amber snapped at Abby. The poor woman was so happy to see Amber acting like her normal self that she felt tears prick at her eyes and she sat down on the bed by Amber and pulled her into a hug, Amber recognized that she was upset and hugged her back tightly.
“Okay, for six months Romano has had you on some mind altering drug and he has some how convinced Carter to use us all as sex slaves but getting him addicted to painkillers again and becoming his provider.” Abby said after she pulled away from the hug, Amber’s jaw dropped slightly and then she started to laugh a little bit thinking that this all just had to be a very bad dream.
“Let’s try this again and this time…tell me the truth.”
“That is the truth AMBER…” Abby growled she had gone through all of this trouble to sober Amber up and now she didn’t even believed her, “The drug he gave you probably caused you to forget most of what has happened but if you don’t believe me I have surveillance film of everything they did to you.” Amber shook her head and started to laugh again when she saw the completely serious look on Abby’s face, that’s when she shut her mouth. Abby put her head in her hands for a moment and then took in a deep breath before pushing her hair back into a pony tail.
“I want to see those videos.” Amber whispered, her mouth was now dry and it was getting harder for her to breathe but she didn’t think she could believe what Abby had just told her with out seeing these videos and what was even worse was she didn’t want to know what happened. She told herself it would be better to know, so she could start to cope, and some how con her way out of this situation and help the others out too. “Abby why did it take so long for you to…well…do whatever you did to get me sober?”
“For the longest time it was only you and me, and since Romano had you under some kind of spell you would have kicked my ass if I would have tried anything. I decided that I was going to need another person here to distract the both of them while I switched the meds. Romano wouldn’t go anywhere with out you and Carter is so doped up on drugs most of the time he wouldn’t notice if I snuck into his room and replaced all of the needles. I’m sorry it took so long but I couldn’t risk being beat to death by a fifth degree black belt who obeyed every command given to her.” Abby explained and then she started to cry, she put her hands to her face and her body just trembled with sobs. Amber felt so bad about this whole situation, even though she knew that it was basically all out of her control up until now but she wished that she could have been stronger, that she could have fought them instead scaring Abby half to death.
“Well it’s me now…I’m here…and the next ass I’m kicking ain’t going to be yours.” Amber said to her, she put an arm around Abby’s shaking form and pulled her into another hug, “I’ll get them for this I promise you.”
“No…” She pulled away just slightly to look in Amber’s eyes, “Not Carter none of this is his fault…promise me you won’t hurt Carter.”
“Look…you said you replaced the needles with Saline right?” Amber asked and Abby nodded slightly as she wiped the tears away from her face, “Well Carter is at county getting more drugs…so your plan may have worked on me but it certainly isn’t going to stop him. Before anything else…and I mean anything…we are going to have to get Carter sobered up otherwise we are screwed because he’s obviously willing to do almost anything to get a fix.”
“Okay but how are we going to do that?” Abby sighed as she started to give up any possible hope of getting out of there alive. Amber looked at her for a moment, and as her head started to clear she came up with a plan. She leaned in and started to whisper into Abby’s ear, and for the first time in months Abby began to smile.
After Abby had informed Amber of how she was supposed to act when she was on the drug, she left Amber to get some rest and headed into the room where the other three women were waiting. She was glad that she was going to tell them that there wouldn’t be training today and hopefully not ever if they could form a plan to take Romano down.
A few hours later Romano and Carter returned from the day of work, like it was perfectly normal that all of the missing doctors were in his house. Amber was feeling a lot better and she was in her room working out, getting prepared to fight some one that she almost didn’t stand a chance against. Romano was a master black belt, and she was only a fifth degree which meant that he could take her down rather easily. She thought at first that he was at a disadvantage because he only had one arm but then she remembered that Karate had everything to do with using your enemies energy against them. When she heard some one approaching she quickly dove back into bed and tried to look as sick as possible. Romano came in and sat down next to her carrying a bag of food that smelled like Chinese take out. She was starving from working out all day and she couldn’t wait to eat but she had to play it off like she was still just a little sick.
“Mm that smells good.” She said in a weak voice, he came over and felt her head and found that the fever he thought she had, had broken. He smiled and took out two containers of food and chopsticks because he knew how much she liked to eat with those. She slowly sat up and opened the first container which was lo mien and smelled it gently. “I’m hungry now…my stomach doest hurt any more.” She smiled at him and started to eat as slow as she could force herself to, she didn’t need him to think she was one hundred percent better. He sat down next to her and turned the TV on to some sitcom but he had no intention of watching it, and he began to eat his food too. It was weird because she wasn’t getting any bad vibes from him, it was also as if he really did care for her which was a little confusing.
“I’m glad you are feeling better.” He said and he looked over to her, “We don’t have to do anything tonight if you aren’t up for it.” He got up and walked over to the table that was in the corner of the room and started to eat once again in silence. She watched him for a moment, she felt sort of strange, this wasn’t the Romano that she knew from county general he was a completely different person. She took a deep breath and got out of the bed and joined him at the table.
“Are you okay…sir?” She quickly added onto the end of it thinking that’s what he expected her to say. He looked at her for a moment and then went back to his food, she frowned slightly and picked up her chopsticks once again and started to eat.
In the other room Weaver was laying on the bed trying to control her breathing even though it caused her immense pain. Susan was sitting at the table eating the dinner that Abby had provided for them and Corday was sitting across from her just staring at the food but she had absolutely no motivation to eat.
“Come on Elizabeth you have to eat something.” Susan said as she took a sip of her wine, she was amazed that they had even provided wine in the first place, “You don’t want to end up like…well…” She sort of nodded in the direction of Weaver who wasn’t paying any attention to them anyway. Corday looked over at Weaver and took in a deep breath before grabbing one of the rolls that was on the table and biting into it.
“Shut up Susan.” Weaver muttered and she carefully rolled onto the side of her that wasn’t bruised and pulled the blanket up over her head. She didn’t want to eat, she didn’t want to sleep, she just wanted to curl up somewhere and die from all the pain and humiliation she was feeling at that moment. A few minutes later Abby walked into the room with a rather large smile on her face and she went and sat down at the third chair that was at the dinner table.
“Amber spent the day doing some physical training now until she can get her strength back up we are going to have to go along with Romano…” Abby paused and waited for Corday or Lewis to complain, Elizabeth opened her mouth to say something and then shut it, she decided to wait till Abby was finished talking first, “But, Amber has promised to make this as easy on you guys as she possibly can. She’s going to try to keep him occupied which means I have the task of distracting Carter.”
“So what you just want us to sit in this room until Amber finally decides to attack him?” Corday blurted out, she didn’t want to be there, and she didn’t even want to think about being forced into sex with Romano again. Abby sighed and ignored Corday’s comment before looking over to Susan to see what her reaction was.
“Hey as long as you keep the food and wine coming I’ll be fine…but I think you should check on Kerry.” She said and then finished what was left in her glass before reaching for the bottle and pouring herself some more. Abby looked at the both of them wondering why they just didn’t check her out but then she remembered how much those two didn’t like Weaver. She thought they might have pulled together to get through this time of crisis but it was now clear that Susan and Elizabeth had formed their own little group excluding her. Abby walked over to the bed and sat down next to Weaver and then leaned over to see how she was doing. Kerry wasn’t asleep yet so she turned her head to look Abby in the eye, she didn’t want help she just wanted everyone to leave her the hell alone.
“I’ll be fine, if you really want to help me get me a vicodin.” Weaver muttered and then she turned her head away so it was resting on the pillow again. She didn’t realize that Abby actually had access to vicodin, and she also didn’t realize that Abby was going to get her just that. Abby nodded slightly thinking that Weaver’s injuries and humiliation deserved some sort of pain killer and the left the room to go get it. As she walked down the hall she began to wonder how she might have been able to prevent things from getting as far as they had. She whished she would have done something earlier but now it was too late and she was going to have to do everything she could to be the strong one of the group.
The next morning Amber was down in one of the lounges with Romano feeding him breakfast, Abby was sitting there watching them as she and Carter ate at a table from across the room. Amber looked rather happy and Abby couldn’t believe how this woman could pull herself together enough to act like she was still some air head under Romano’s control. Amber giggled and then started to kiss Romano passionately and Abby began to worry that something was very wrong, it didn’t seem to her that Amber was the least bit disgusted. There was no look in her eyes that confirmed it, or even subtle body language she was acting just as she had in the days before. She wondered if Romano had decided to give her some other drug, or something happened…what she didn’t think about was the possibility that Amber was actually falling in love with Romano.
“Abby I’m going to go into work for a few hours…have lunch ready when I get home.” Carter announced before getting up and leaving the room. His head had been pounding on and off for the past few days but luckily he wasn’t able to draw the connection with the replaced needles, her just thought that he needed more pain killers for it to work.
“Amber…” Romano pulled away from the kiss for just a moment, “I need to go pick up your birthday present but I’ll be home within the hour.” He smiled at her and she smiled back a little excited to find out what he had gotten her, or was going to get her. She got off of his lap and heard Abby mutter something to herself before she cleared her and Carter’s plate and headed into the kitchen. Amber waited till Romano had left before walking into the kitchen to help her clean up.
“Amber, did he drug you again?” Abby asked her after she carelessly dropped the dishes into the sink, she thought that she was going to lose her mind if the whole drugging thing started up again. Amber smiled at her and picked up and apple and bit into it.
“No, you told me to act like an idiot so that’s what I’m doing.” She replied and then took another bite of the apple and started to chew it loudly.
“You looked like you were actually enjoying your time with him…” Abby picked up a towel and dried off her hands and then set it down on the counter, “You don’t actually like him do you?” Amber took another bite of the apple and though about it, she didn’t know if she should answer the question truthfully or if she should lie.
“No…yes…maybe just a little…” She offered a weak smile in Abby’s direction, which caused the poor nurse to finally go over the edge.
“WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU? HUH?” She stepped up getting into Amber’s face even though she was considerably shorter then her, “YOU KNOW WHAT HE DID TO YOU! And you KNOW what he made you do to KERRY…how the HELL can you stand there and…” She clenched her fists and growled slightly before actually throwing a punch at Amber’s face. Amber’s hand darted up and caught the fist before it made contact and she held onto it tightly.
“You need to get laid…I think you’re the only one in this place who hasn’t had sex with Carter or Romano in…god…who knows how long.” Amber continued to hold her fist and she took another bite of her apple.
“What the hell are you getting at?” Abby whispered harshly…Amber stood there for a moment chewing on her apple, finally she swallowed and set it down and pulled Abby into one hell of a hungry kiss. At first she tried to pull away, but a few moments later she felt herself kissing back, she didn’t know why or even how it was turning her on but it was. She finally pulled away from Amber, her face completely red and she stepped over to the sink and started to do the dishes in silence.
“You liked that didn’t you?” Amber purred into her ear as she stepped up behind her, Abby clenched her teeth but she remained silent, she didn’t want to admit to Amber or even herself that she enjoyed that. Amber leaned in and started to kiss at Abby’s neck gently before sliding her hand into the front of Abby’s jeans and into her panties. Abby gasped slightly but she didn’t make any attempt to pull away from the other woman’s touch. Amber smiled and then went back to kissing her neck, she slipped a finger into Abby’s hot little body and started to move it in and out expertly, it was clear that she knew what she was doing. Abby groaned slightly and sine Amber was behind her it wasn’t hard for her to pretend that it was some one else doing this to her, she decided to pretend like it was Carter, back in the days before he had become a complete asshole. Amber added another one of her skilled fingers and moved them in and out a little faster causing Abby to moan even louder. She started to grind her hips down to drive Amber’s fingers deeper into her, she was loving every second of it. Amber continued for a while moving her hand at various speeds keeping Abby on the brink of an orgasm for almost forty five minutes before Abby couldn’t take it any more.
“Amber stop it…let me cum…”
“Beg for it Abby…” Amber whispered into her ear before she started to nibble at Abby’s ear lobe, Abby moaned loudly and started to grind her hips down but no matter what she did she wasn’t able to bring herself to an orgasm.
“Fine…Amber please let me cum…” She begged and Amber smiled from behind her. She then added yet another finger and let her palm press firmly against Abby’s clit, which almost instantly brought the woman to a screaming orgasm, she was thrusting her hips and her knees started to buckle but Amber supported her to keep her standing. Abby’s hands clutched at the kitchen counter as she screamed and orgasmed not once but four different times. She never thought that she would ever be brought to orgasm by another woman, but on the other hand that was probably the best orgasm or series of orgasms she had ever had. Finally Amber moved away from her and started to suck on her fingers, Abby took in a deep breath and turned to look at her, she felt like a whole bunch of tension had just been lifted from her. Amber brought the fingers out of her mouth once more and pulled Abby into a gently kiss running her fingers through the smaller woman’s soft hair. Abby kissed back and then pulled Amber into a hug and started to cry, she didn’t know why she was crying but it had been the first time since she had got there that she had cried…but this time she was actually in the arms of some one she felt safe with.
When Romano returned with his birthday gift for Amber he found her in the lounge laying on the leather couch reading a book.
“You’re reading?” He said like it was something completely out of the ordinary but then he shrugged it off, “I got your gift.” From behind him he pulled a black velvet box and from the looks of it there was something very expensive inside. Amber dropped the book and sat up wondering what he could have possibly gotten her. She walked over and took the box from him and then opened it slowly, inside was the most beautiful diamond necklace she had ever seen, in her entire life. She smiled and looked at him again before sitting down and placing the box on her lap. She pulled the necklace from the case and held it up to the light for a moment, marveling at it’s beauty.
“Oh Robert I…”
“Amber look,” He started and then sat down next to her on the couch, she pulled her hair over her shoulder and then clasped the necklace around her neck, “I know you have been sober for the past few days and although you’ve had many opportunities you haven’t beat the crap out of me yet…why is that?” Amber blinked a few times wondering if the whole charade was up, wondering if he was going to go back to drugging her into a mindless drone like she was before.
“I, I just…”
“I don’t want to keep you here against your will any longer,” He reached into his pocket and pulled out his car keys, “If you want you can leave and take the necklace with you because I can’t imagine seeing it on anyone else.” He placed the car keys in her hand and then leaned in and kissed her cheek, she turned and looked into his eyes wondering if this was all some sort of trick but all she saw was honesty and sorrow. He was serious about letting her go, which made her realize there must be something more to the enigma of Robert Romano.
“Robert I don’t want to leave you,” She looked down at his hand and smiled letting go of the car keys, “I want to stay here and help you train those women.” When she said that his eyes went from despair to utter surprise but she was being completely serious with him. She pulled him into a deep kiss and then a hug and smiled as she rested her head on his shoulder, this was going to be very fun and they both knew it.
Meanwhile Corday, Lewis, and Weaver sat up in the bedroom doing anything they could to keep themselves entertained. Susan was on the couch where she had been sleeping every night since they got there, reading one of the many books that lined the shelves in the room. Corday was on the bed next to Kerry who was half asleep flipping through the channels on the plasma screen TV. The past few days had been long and boring leaving them only with the thoughts of events to come. Suddenly the door opened to reveal Amber, she was wearing a black business suit, her hair was pulled up tightly behind her head and black framed glasses rested on the bridge of her nose. Her look reminded Corday of the headmistress in her high school but a lot younger and more stunning and she smiled slightly.
“Lizzie can I have a word with you?” Amber asked sweetly, Corday looked at Weaver and Lewis before standing up from the bed and stepping out into the hall where Amber closed the door behind them and locked it. “Walk with me.” With that she started to head down the hall, Corday watched her for just a moment but then quickly followed.
“Amber what is…”
“How is your gag reflex these days Lizzie?” Amber asked not even bothering to look back, her tone of voice almost made her sound like she was talking to a naughty child.
“Practically non exisistant but what does that have to do with anything?” Corday sped up so she was walking next to Amber instead of behind her. Amber looked her up and down and began to smile, a smile that was one of pure evil.
“Robert’s rather large and well, he doesn’t like gagging.” Amber replied, Corday stopped dead in her tracks, there was no way she was going to service Romano again, no way in hell. Amber stopped with her and looked her in the eye sternly almost as if she couldn’t be bothered with such petty things.
“AMBER!” Corday put her hands on Amber’s shoulders and shook her gently, “What is wrong with you! You are sober I know you are! Why are you continuing this charade?”
“Because it’s fun Lizzie.” With that Amber grabbed Corday by the wrist and started to pull her down the hall. Corday did everything she could to resist but since she hadn’t eaten much in the past few days her strength wasn’t what it used to be. She started to cry loudly as she thought of all the disgusting and humiliating things Robert would make her do. Then Amber stopped and back handed Corday as hard as she could, “Are you going to cooperate or do I have to drug you?” Elizabeth thought about it, at least if she was drugged then she would have an excuse for her behavior, and maybe the drug would alter her state of mind so she was peaceful…unfortunately for her that wasn’t the kind of drug Amber had in mind.
“Fine then, drug me I’m not going to go see him any other way.” She replied hoping that she looked pitiful enough to make Amber change her mind, but she was wrong. Amber shrugged and pulled a syringe from her coat pocket and pulled the cap off of the needle with her teeth before jamming it into Corday’s arm and injecting it.
“Now stop your whining and start walking.” Amber said after she spit out the cap to the needle on the floor near by. Corday looked at her and even though she didn’t quite feel anything yet she started walking hoping that the movement would pump the drug into her system even faster. About half way down the hall it took effect, her heart started to beat faster, her face turned a soft tone of red, and she was over come by arousal. She didn’t think she had ever…no she knew she had never been this aroused in her life and it was almost scary. Her train of thought went from being humiliated to thinking of ways to bring herself to orgasm that second, she stopped walking and watched Amber walk her hips swaying back and fourth almost begging to be touched. “Elizabeth…”
“Amber something’s wrong with me…” Corday whispered and she leaned against the wall, her hands started to roam her body in a quest to get this feeling of total arousal to go away, she didn’t even stop to consider it might have something to do with what she was just injected with but she couldn’t walk another step until a climax was met.
“It’s the drug Elizabeth.” Amber walked over and stopped right in front of her, and then she smiled slightly, “Sex is all you can think about now isn’t it? Huh? My hands running over your body, my soft warm tongue on your dripping wet cunt…your hands on my head as I use my mouth to…” Corday couldn’t take it any more she needed physical contact and she knew that her own hands just wouldn’t cut it, so she grabbed Amber by the collar of her shirt and pulled her into a ravenous kiss. Amber didn’t fight it, she kissed back as she listened to Corday’s muffled moans of pleasure. Elizabeth started to strip Amber down, but she soon stopped when she realized that Amber’s hand was already in her panties, “Yes that’s right you know you want this….don’t you…beg me for it.”
“Amber…”
“Fine then you get nothing.” She started to remove her hand when Corday quickly moved to hold it in place, and this time she was very strong.
“Fuck me Amber…get me off…PLEASE!” She begged and at this point she was barely aware of what was going on around her, her only goal now was to get this feeling to go away and this was the only thing she knew how to do. Amber smiled at her and slipped in two fingers and started to move them in and out just as skillfully as she had done on Abby that morning. Corday tilted her head back so it was resting against the wall and let out a very loud moan, Amber had no idea she was so vocal. Romano stepped out into the doorway to the room he was in and leaned against it watching them. This had all be planned, he knew Lizzie would opt for the drug and he knew that this drug would cause her to go insane if she didn’t have some kind of stimulation right away. As Amber continued she leaned in to suck on Elizabeth’s neck while Romano watched with a smile on his face. After a few minutes Amber brought Corday to a screaming orgasm and then pulled away letting her slide gently down onto the floor. She then turned and walked to Romano and put her fingers on his lips gently and he began to suck on them. Corday muttered something but her body was now completely drained of energy, so she curled up on the floor and fell asleep almost instantly.
“Did you have fun?” He asked Amber after taking her wrist in his hand and removing her fingers from his mouth and she nodded at him.
“But not as much fun as I can have with you…Rocket.” Amber giggled and then stepped into the bedroom, leaving Corday to sleep peacefully on the carpet in the hall.
Corday was woken by Weaver who was checking her vitals, if it had been any other situation Corday would have hated to wake up to see Weaver standing over her but now she was more then happy. She groaned and tried to push Weaver away from her wondering where Susan was and why she wasn’t checking her vitals instead.
“Good you’re awake.” Weaver said to her smiling just slightly, “They drugged you.”
“Drugged me? DRUGGED ME? WELL SOMEONE GIVE HER A BLOODY PRIZE!” Corday screamed before sitting up and putting her face in her hands, “No shit they drugged me Kerry where the hell have you been?” She then looked up and got out of bed, she was happy to see food there because she was feeling very hungry at this point. She walked over to the table and sat down and started to eat the dinner that once again had been provided to them care of Abby.
“What I meant was…what did they drug you with…” Weaver replied through clenched teeth after taking a very deep breath to calm herself down. Corday looked up from her burger, her mouth full of food, and yet she didn’t even have an answer for that question. She knew whatever they had given her had made her extremely horny, so horny in fact that she could think of nothing else, and even now trying to remember the whole ordeal brought a blank spot to her memory.
“I don’t know what they drugged me with but it made me extremely aroused.” She whispered before going back to eat her food, Susan wasn’t in the room but she barely noticed because she was way to hungry to care. Kerry looked at her for a moment and swallowed hard, she didn’t have any idea that there were drugs out there like that. OF course there was always viagra…
“What do you mean extremely aroused?”
“I mean…I couldn’t think about anything else but sex and well…reaching a climax and at that point all I remember was that I was willing to do anything to get that orgasm.” She replied and then opened a diet soda and took a long drink.
“All you remember?”
“Yes that’s all I remember because whenever I try to figure out what happened after that I draw a huge blank.” She picked up a French fry and put it in her mouth and started to chew it slowly, wondering if it wasn’t such a bad thing that she couldn’t exactly remember what had happened to her.
“While you were gone, Carter came in here and got Susan although I have no idea why.” Kerry said before getting up and limping to the table where she joined Corday. She had already eaten her dinner which consisted of half of a salad and a glass of wine, she wasn’t very motivated to eat anything either but she knew she had to at least keep up her strength.
“You don’t know why?” Corday responded almost as if she was talking to a child, “BLOODY HELL KERRY! Where have you been? Huh? He’s going to fuck her!” She took another drink of her soda and then got up and walked over to the door which she started to pound on furiously, “SOME ONE GET ME OUT OF HERE BEFORE I KILL HER!” Weaver rolled her eyes and continued to sit at the table wishing that at least one person would be on her side but it seemed like she was all alone in this except for Abby, whom she hardly ever saw more then once a day for a few minutes. After a little bit of banging and screaming Amber came and opened the door and smiled at Corday before leading her out into the hallway to get her another room. Kerry shook her head, wondering how some one could be so immature and snappy at a time like this, she then picked herself up and made her way over to the couch where she grabbed a book from the shelf and started to read.
About an hour later Amber showed up at her door wanting to see her, and after what happened to Corday, Kerry wasn’t sure she wanted to go out in the hallway for a little talk but she didn’t have much of a choice. Amber was pulling her down the hall not saying anything to her, it was clear from the look in her eyes that she really didn’t want to be doing this.
“Where are you taking me?” Weaver demanded, Amber looked at her and then stopped by a door which she unlocked.
“Stay right here if you try anything you know I can chase you down.” Amber growled before she went in. Kerry sighed and leaned up against the wall looking at the artwork that lined the walls, wondering what could possibly be in store for her next. She was worried about the other women even though they didn’t seem to want to have anything to do with her. When Amber came back out she was holding Weaver’s crutch and she shut the door and locked it once again before handing it over, “If you even think about using this as a weapon against me or anyone else, you’ll definitely regret it.” Not wanting to take any chances Weaver nodded and then followed Amber as she started to walk down the hall again.
“Where are you taking me?” Weaver repeated hoping the answer had nothing to do with Romano, Amber looked at her for a moment and then continued walking, “Amber just tell me.”
“I’m taking you to Romano.” She said with out looking back, Weaver could almost swear that she saw a chill run through Amber’s body. Kerry shook her head slightly, the last person she wanted to see at this point was Romano, he had already almost broken her spirit by beating her a few days prior, and she couldn’t even imagine what he had in store for her. Amber stopped at a door near the end of the hall and opened it, she motioned for Kerry to go in first. She hesitated but after realizing she didn’t have much of a choice in the matter she walked inside. Romano was sitting in a rather nice leather chair, a wicked smile plastered on his face, and a glass of wine in one hand.
“Kerry so nice to see you, Amber…” He motioned to her and almost instantly Amber grabbed Weaver’s crutch and wrenched it away from her before pushing her forward so she landed on her knees in front of Romano. “You know one of my favorite words is humiliation. For a while that’s what you did to me…you humiliated me, made me look like less then a man but, now you will pay.” Amber turned her head away from the both of them because she already knew what was going to happen and since she had rather strong feelings for Kerry she didn’t want to watch. She stepped over to a couch that was across the room but she didn’t sit on it she just stared at the wall keeping her lips tight so she wouldn’t say anything.
After Romano’s initial statement there were no more words but there was a struggle and the sound of Weaver being slapped. Amber put her hands to her side and started to dig her nails into her legs, she closed her eyes and tried to pretend like this wasn’t happening. In a matter of moments she heard Kerry gagging, and Amber knew exactly what she was gagging on, she didn’t know how long she was going to be able to take this. She started to bite at her lip hard as she felt tears escape from her eyes and run down her cheeks, and although Romano was now forcing Kerry to pleasure him orally he wasn’t making a sound. It seemed like it took forever for him to finally get off on what he was doing to her, Amber didn’t mind when he did it to Corday or Susan because she never really liked them anyway but this was different. She did love Romano for some odd reason but no matter how hard she tried she wasn’t able to talk him out of doing this.
“Swallow.” She heard Romano command as her gaze remained fixed on the wall in front of her, “And if you even think about getting sick I’ll hurt you.” There was another moment of silence as Kerry forced herself to swallow and then she took in a gasp of air. Amber quickly wiped the tears away from her face and turned to look at them, knowing that Romano was going to want Kerry out of his sight as soon as possible.
“Are you done?” She manages to say in a more stable voice then she realized she had, Romano nodded and motioned for Amber to remove Kerry from the room. Amber walked over to Weaver and pulled her to her feet, but it was clear that the woman didn’t want to do anything any more she was at her breaking point. Amber didn’t know how but she got Kerry into the hall, and almost instantly the poor woman pressed her back against the wall and slid down to the floor. “Kerry, are you going to be sick?” Weaver swallowed hard and turned her head to look at Amber wondering how she could possibly allow this to happen, wondering how she could just stand there and let it happen and not say a word.
“Yeah…I think I am.” She whispered, Amber turned and helped her up and gave her the crutch, she then stepped to a door that was across the hall and opened it for Weaver. The door lead into one of the small bathrooms in the hallway, and she watched as Weaver glared at her and then stumbled inside slamming the door behind her. Amber pressed her back against the wall that was next to the door of the bathroom, she thought she was going to be able to hold it together until she heard Kerry vomiting. She put her hands to her face and started to cry, wishing things could be different, wishing that she wasn’t so emotionally torn between the two of them. She didn’t know what to do anymore, she didn’t know if she should fight for Kerry or just continue to let Romano have his way. She loved them both dearly and she didn’t want to see either of them get hurt. After a few more moment Weaver stepped out into the hallway and looked at Amber who walked over and gently pushed some hair out of Weaver’s face.
“Don’t touch me…ever.” Weaver growled at her before she turned and headed down the hallway back to her room, before now she hated being in that room completely alone but now she was almost sure it was the only safe place she could be. Even though she looked completely hopeless she was still trying to think of ways to get herself out of there, Romano was right, she felt dirty and humiliated but she knew that she couldn’t let that stop her from getting out of this place alive.
“Don’t tell me you’re thinking of apologizing to her.” Romano said as Amber entered the room shutting the door behind her.
“Look Robert, I can deal with treating Corday, Lewis, and even Abby like they are pieces of meat but I have feelings for Kerry and I can’t…”
“You let her vomit didn’t you?” Romano asked standing up from the couch as soon as she sat down next to him. He was keeping his back too her as he spoke signaling that he was probably very pissed off at her.
“Yeah but…” Amber replied not getting why it was such a big deal, “Who cares Robert?”
“I care, it’s the principal of the thing…when I tell her to do something she does it end of story.” He still didn’t turn to look at her but his hand clenched into a tight fist.
“You know as well as I do that 9 times out of ten vomiting is involuntary.” Amber said through clenched teeth, watching as Romano took another step towards the door.
“She was fine before she left you should have just taken her to her room…never disobey me again.” And with that he stormed out of the room leaving Amber to think about what she had done. She was so confused at this point, she didn’t know if she should help Weaver or continue to listen to what Romano told her to do because she loved both of them equally. She felt tears prick at her eyes and she leaned forward, resting her face in her hands where she began to sob.
“Abby make him stop!” Susan yelled from her position in the corner that Carter had backed her into. Abby just sat in her chair looking down at her hands, she knew that if she tried to do anything to stop him he was just going to hurt her too and she didn’t really like Susan enough to take a beating for her.
“Oh come on Susan it’s not that bad, if you don’t resist me it won’t hurt.” Carter said in a soft tone of voice his body nearly pressing her against the wall. She swallowed hard but continued to stare him down, there was no way she was going to let him do this to her with out a fight. “Alright then, we can do this the easy way or my way…and I can assure you, you won’t like it done my way.”
“Well I’m not going to submit to you that easily so bring it on.” She spat at him and he clenched his teeth and started to role up his sleeves, when he was done with that he started to crack his knuckles and that’s when Susan realized that she was either going to have to fight him or get one of the worst beatings of her life.
“Once I start I won’t stop until you are completely out…so don’t even think about begging for mercy.” He snarled at her.
“Can I fight back?” She whispered, wondering how good she could possibly do against a man who was bent on raping her no matter what happened.
“Okay but you won’t win…”
“And why is that?”
“Because…” he pulled his fist back and punched her as hard as he could in the jaw, “I don’t fight fair.” The blow to her face cause her to fall to the floor, she took in a deep breath and forced herself to stand before he could get close enough to kick her while she was down. She lifted her arm and wiped the blood away from her lip even though her head was spinning.
“Is that all you got?” She whispered as she narrowed her gaze at him, he just sort of laughed before pulling her into a head butt and kneeing her in the stomach as hard as he could. All the air was knocked out of her and she fell back against the wall trying to draw in another breath.
“Most women would have just let themselves pass out after that.” He laughed as he took another stance to prepare to hit her again.
“I’m not most women…” With that she stepped forward and grabbed him by the shoulders and kneed him in the groin as hard as she could. He groaned slightly and fell to the floor where she started to kick him in the stomach repeatedly. For a moment it seemed to Abby like Lewis had the upper hand, well that was until Carter pulled a switch blade and used it to slice into Susan’s left heel…deep enough to sever her Achilles tendon. He knew how serious an injury like that would be on anyone, and he also knew that it would cause her to stop attacking at him and pass out from blood loss. She screamed and fell to the floor holding her ankle tightly trying to apply as much pressure as she could even though the pain was almost more then she could handle.
“And I told you I didn’t fight fair.” He crawled over to her and then motioned to Abby, who quickly brought over a first aid kit.
“Don’t touch me! I’d rather bleed to death!” She managed to get out, he just shrugged and smiled at her and that was the last thing she saw before the loss of blood caused her to pass out.
“For crying out loud Carter…” Amber said as she was stitching up the wound in Susan’s heel, Susan was still passed out but she most certainly wasn’t going to die from the injury, “You know she’s probably going to need surgery and we can’t take her to the hospital…do you realize how inconveniencing this is going to be?”
“So what? She doesn’t need surgery…with this injury she won’t be able to run from me any more.” Carter replied as he sat back in a near by chair and picked at his nails with the switch blade he had used on Susan, “Besides It’ll probably get infected and she’ll die…one less thing to worry about.”
“If that happens you’ll be a murderer.” Amber muttered, she finished up the stitching and reached for the bandage that was next to her.
“And you’ll be an accessory.” Carter replied and then he stood up and started to head for the door to the room, “I don’t care if she lives or dies…so it’s your problem now.” He then left the room slamming the door behind him. Amber didn’t really like Susan or Corday very much but that didn’t mean she wanted them to die, and it was going to be hard to keep a wound like this from getting infected if she didn’t have the right equipment. She finished tying the bandage around Susan’s ankle and then sat back slightly, she most certainly couldn’t let Susan die…or anyone else for that matter.
As far as Abby could remember she had only seen Weaver cry once, and even that wasn’t enough to prepare her for what she was about to see. She entered Weaver’s room to find her all out sobbing curled up on the bed, her breathing was shallow and Abby was sure if Kerry didn’t calm down soon she was hyperventilate and pass out.
“Kerry.” Abby shut the door behind her and rushed over to the bed, she hadn’t gotten along with the woman in the past but that didn’t mean she wanted to see her cry like that. Kerry had always been such a strong woman and it was hard for Abby to stomach, seeing her so upset like that, “Kerry what happened?”
“The sun ain’t gonna shine any more, the moon ain’t gonna rise in the sky…” Kerry muttered to her before she went back to crying. Abby of course had no idea what that meant, at first, but the words sounded rather familiar and she was able to trace it back to an old Cher song, “Nothing to lose but no more to win.”
“Look, Kerry, I can fix this I can get us out of here I promised you I would.” Abby almost pleaded with her, she couldn’t stand to see anyone in this shape. Weaver didn’t respond she just continued to cry, she was at the point where the tears wouldn’t come and her body was shaking terribly. “Kerry please just tell me what happened.”
“You promised me three days ago that we would be out of here…HOW THE HELL CAN I TRUST YOU ANY MORE?” Weaver suddenly screamed at her, “By all accounts you lied to me! You may have sobered up Amber but now she’s working for Romano…WILLINGLY!”
“What?”
“Oh you heard me!” She pulled herself to a sitting position and took a few deep breaths trying to calm herself down. Abby could barely believe what she had just heard, and because she had just come from a place where she had viewed a rather brutal attack on Susan she nearly lost it herself.
“Did he do something to you?” She whispered trying not to break down over the new information that was just relayed to her. Weaver looked at Abby for a moment before picking up her crutch and walking over to the table in the corner of the room and sitting down.
“I need something to drink, something very strong…can you get me something please?” She requested looking down at her hands, she knew that getting completely plastered probably wasn’t the best idea but she just couldn’t take this any more. Abby nodded slightly and left the room, when she came back she was holding a bottle of tequila and two shot glasses. She went over to the table and set down the bottle, then she placed one of the shot glasses in front of Weaver and one in front of herself. With out a word she poured the two shots and before she could even blink Weaver downed hers with out so much as a disgusted face. “More…”
“Are you…”
“Just pour it Abby!” She snapped, Abby took a deep breath and poured her another shot before downing her own and pouring another one. She was willing to let Weaver get drunk but there was no way she was going to let the poor woman poison herself. They continued with this until Weaver had downed seven shots compared to Abby who had only managed to get down two. “Another one.”
“No, you just took seven shots you have to wait for it to kick in.” Abby commanded, Kerry had drank the tequila so quickly she hadn’t given it any time to actually work. Weaver growled slightly and sat back in her chair, and about a minute later the effects of the alcohol hit her, and hard. She started to laugh, a very disconnected laugh, then she stood up and fell to the floor which caused her to laugh even harder. Abby was now sufficiently relaxed but she wasn’t going to drink any more because there had to be at least one sensible person in the room.
“Abby…” Weaver pulled herself to her feet and surprisingly made it over to the bed before collapsing again, “Tell Amber that she can bite me…tell Romano that he’s a fucking idiot, and tell Carter that if I ever see him again I’m going to smash his face in with my crutch.” Abby stood up and walked over to the bed and sat on the edge about a foot away from where Weaver was laying.
“I promised you I would get us out of here and I will…I just don’t know how yet.” Abby said softly and she put her hand on Weaver’s gently. Kerry then broke into another fit of laughter before passing out, Abby sighed and rolled her onto her side just incase she vomited so she wouldn’t aspirate. She grabbed the remote and turned on the TV…she didn’t watch it because she was too concerned with figuring out how to get them out of there, the background noise helped her concentrate.
Amber was sitting next to Susan holding her hand, but at the same time she was leaning up against the wall that the bed was pushed against and she was half asleep. She wanted to be there when Susan woke up even though she didn’t have the first clue what she was going to say to her. She couldn’t tell her that Carter wanted to leave her for dead, and she couldn’t tell her that surgery wasn’t an option right away. Since it wasn’t an option she knew that Susan would be well aware that she might lose her foot all together because the stitches that Amber had to make were with no more then a sewing needle and a common thread which she barely had time to disinfect before using.
“Amber?” Susan whispered loud enough to knock Amber out of her little cat nap, “I’m thirsty.” Amber shook her head slightly and then reached for the bottle of water she had brought in there with her, she then helped Susan sit up before handing it to her.
“Do you want something for the pain?” Amber offered still considering all of the options she could give to Susan to keep her from panicking.
“What do you have?”
“Morphine, Vicodin…” Amber replied leaning over to the box of stolen drugs that Carter had brought home from the hospital.
“Morphine…just not too much of it, it makes me sick.” She muttered and then took another sip of her water. Amber was unable to hook her up to an IV which would have been a problem if Susan hadn’t woken up when she did to drink some water. Amber pulled one of the needles from the box and loaded it before taking Susan’s arm and injecting it.
“I’m really sorry Susan…if I was here I would have stopped him from doing that to you.” Amber explained before tossing the needle away. Susan looked at her, an a tear rolled down her face which she quickly wiped away.
“Abby was here, and…she just sat there and…she just…she let him do it.” She whispered gently wiping another tear away from her bruised face. Amber swallowed hard, she wished so bad that she could have been there but now things were over and wishing wasn’t going to make things all better.
“Carter wants to leave you for dead…well not exactly leave you…he wants to use you and wait for infection to set in and…well…he indicated to me that he didn’t care if you died.” Amber blurted out, she didn’t know why but she thought that it might help Susan to know, “But I won’t let that happen, I’m going to get you out of here so you don’t lose your foot, or your leg to infection. The knife he used was not the cleanest and I didn’t have very many supplies to clean you up and, and,” She started to cry, “I’m so sorry I did everything I could…I really did I didn’t mean for this to happen.”
“Whoa, slow down, it’s not your fault you weren’t here.” Susan replied and she turned her head so she was looking at Amber, “You did the best you could…you could have let me bleed to death, you could have done nothing…I’m sure Carter wasn’t going to help me…just thank you.” She put her hand on top of Amber’s and squeezed it slightly. She took another small drink from the water bottle and then handed it to Amber who set it on the floor by the bed.
“I don’t know how, but I’ll get you to the hospital as soon as I can.” Amber tried to reassure her, it was no longer about Romano threatening to hurt her, it was now about life and death and she wasn’t going to let Susan die. Susan nodded slightly before drifting off to sleep from the effects of the morphine, Amber knew she had to go talk to Kerry but she was dreading every second of it. She got up and covered Susan with a blanket before leaving the room making sure to set her watch so she would be back in fifteen minutes to check on her.
After stepping into Weaver’s room Amber heard the familiar sound of retching and vomiting coming from the bathroom that was just a few feet away from the bed. She closed her eyes to compose herself for a moment wondering if Weaver was still sick from her little session with Romano, that’s when she noticed the tequila on the table with the two shot glasses. She wondered who was in there drinking with Kerry as she stepped towards the bathroom resting her hand lightly on the crutch that was leaning on the wall just outside of the door. Inside she saw Kerry kneeling by the toilet and Abby was there holding her hair back looking absolutely spent.
“Kerry?”
“Don’t, don’t come near…” Weaver was interrupted by another vomiting spell but finally she pushed back from the toilet after flushing it and rested her head against the cold tile wall behind her, “Don’t come near me.” Abby glared at Amber, she couldn’t believe that someone who claimed to love Kerry so much would put her through an ordeal like that. Amber stayed in the doorway as she was asked but that didn’t mean she was going to stop talking.
“Kerry I’m really sorry I…”
“Really sorry?” Abby stood up and walked towards Amber, she grabbed her by the arm and pulled her out into the bedroom shutting the door behind her, “Really sorry Amber? REALLY SORRY? I can’t even…you just…how could you…OOOO!” She was so angry she couldn’t even say what she was thinking so instead she punched Amber as hard as she could in the jaw. Amber wasn’t prepared for such an act and she stumbled back but remained standing, because of her background in hand to hand combat she was used to taking a punch.
“Alright, I deserved that but…”
“Oh no…no…no…no…no Amber…you deserve much more then that.” Abby turned and picked up the crutch that was leaning against the wall and held it tightly in her hands like a bat and she was obviously ready to swing. Amber backed up and got into a defense stance but she would soon find out that it would be of no use to her because Abby was faster then she thought.
“Put that down and talk to me rationally…okay Abby?”
“I’m tired of rationality…you are going DOWN!” Abby swung the crutch around and it slammed into Amber’s head, hard enough to knock her down and cause ringing in her ears, “I am SO SICK of you…SICK AND TIRED OF YOU!” Abby then nearly saw red and she started to beat Amber, unmercifully, hitting any part of Amber’s body that wasn’t protected by her hands until finally Amber stopped moving because she had passed out. Abby swallowed hard and looked at the crutch in her hands and then dropped it and backed away. “Stay down…like the fucking dog that you are.” She muttered before going back into the bathroom to check on Kerry.
Luckily before Abby could get out of the bathroom with Kerry, Amber had regained consciousness and had pulled herself into the hallway but she was sure that at least one of her ribs was broken. Her head was pounding and her nose was bleeding, but instead of thinking about how much pain she was in, she thought about Susan instead. At first she thought her ears were ringing but she soon figured out that it was her watch beeping, it had been fifteen minutes and she had to get back to check on Susan. She pulled herself down the hall leaning on the wall for balance, and finally she made it into the room where Susan was actually sitting up and watching TV.
“Oh my god…” Susan started to get up but then she remembered that she couldn’t walk, and it took every ounce of strength in her not to get up and walk to Amber anyway, “What happened to you?” Amber limped over to the bed, cursing herself for not being more prepared, for not being able to stop Abby from what she did, but at the same time she knew that she deserved it.
“Abby…beat me…I’m sorry.” Amber collapsed on the bed but she didn’t pass out, she stared up at Susan with glossy eyes and she was breathing hard, after a moment she rolled onto her back and slid up into a sitting position hoping it would help her to breathe easier. Susan opened the bottle of water she had sitting on her lap and handed it to Amber, Amber looked down at it and took a sip of water and then handed the bottle back to Susan, “You need this way more then I do.” Without turning her head she reached blindly for the box of painkillers that was sitting on the bed side table and pulled out the first needle she found, followed by the first vial of pain medication. She held it out in front of her, but she was currently seeing double and she couldn’t read what it said, she resisted the urge to just load the needle and inject it anyway by lazily dropping both the covered needle and the vial in Susan’s lap.
“This is demoral, do you want me to give you some?” Susan asked after she picked up the bottle and read the label, Amber nodded not able to answer, she wasn’t sure she actually needed any pain medication but she knew that a dose of demoral would keep her from acting irrationally, and it would definitely keep her from trying to kill herself. Susan nodded and loaded the needle and then injected it into Amber’s arm. Amber felt a slight burning sensation as the medicine entered her body but that was soon replaced with a wonderful euphoric feeling. She closed her eyes and smiled before resting her head on Susan’s shoulder and letting herself drift into sleep. Susan sighed and put her hand gently on Amber’s head, and stroked her hair soothingly, wondering what she was going to do if Amber decided to give up.
“WHAT DID YOU DO TO HER?” Romano’s voice echoed through the hall as he caught up with Abby who was heading towards the kitchen to make dinner, she had completely forgot about the surveillance cameras that were in every room, she had also forgotten that Romano was probably watching her every move as she beat Amber senseless. Abby didn’t stop walking or even turn around to acknowledge him, she knew she was in trouble and she decided that she was going to try and stall for every second she could. “I’M TALKING TO YOU!” Abby bit her lip and took off running down the hall, she didn’t know exactly where she was going to go, or what she was going to do but she knew that she had to get away from him. She completely under estimated how fast her was, and a moment later he had caught up to her and tackled her to the floor where he pinned her down.
“She deserved it!” Abby screamed at him trying to get away, amazed that a man with only one arm could keep her pinned down so well, “I DON’T REGRET IT FOR A SECOND!”
“Oh you will when I get through with you.” Romano growled, he pulled a needle from his pocket and injected her with whatever was inside, she gasped as she felt it injected into her and passed out quickly there after. Romano smiled and stood up; he certainly had his work cut out for him.
When Abby woke up Corday was checking her vitals, she groaned and moved out of the way and forced herself to sit up. She was in a different set of clothes and she knew that she had been violated because she could feel something had been inserted inside of her…it was big and most likely metal…but she didn’t know what it was or how it got in there. Corday sighed and looked at her for a moment before getting back up herself and moving to the couch where she was before Abby came in, and then she picked up her book and started to read it.
“There’s something inside of my…”
“You’ll get used to it…just remember not to piss Romano off.” Corday muttered barely even looking in Abby’s direction, “You are lucky I convinced him to put it there instead of in your ass.”
“You mean you watched him do it…and you didn’t do anything about it?” Abby swallowed hard, the room was spinning as the sedative started to wear off. “What is it exactly?”
“Another one of Romano’s sick ideas for controlling us…” Corday replied still not looking up from her book, “he has a remote and if you make him mad he presses a button and it sends out a shock…he did it to me twice and I passed out from the pain…it makes you feel like you are burning from the inside out…definitely worse then child birth so I wouldn’t recommend talking back to him any more.”
“That’s just…” She put her hands to her head and rubbed her temples slightly trying to make the spinning stop, “I hate him.”
“Join the bloody club.”
“Were you really going to kill Weaver if I left you in there with her?” Abby whispered and then laid back on the bed deciding that it was a bad idea to try to stand up right away.
“No…but I would have beaten the crap out of her.” Corday replied and then she turned the page to her book before leaning forward and picking up an unopened bottle of water and tossing it in Abby’s direction, “I know your mouth is dry…but don’t talk to me any more I’m reading.” Abby caught the bottle of water and glared at Corday for being so rude to her. She opened it up and took a small drink because she didn’t want to get sick by drinking too much at once, she laid back down to rest her eyes for a moment but only succeeded in falling back asleep.
A few days later Amber was still covered in bruises but they were bothering her less and less. She woke up once again next to Susan who now had a fever from the infection in her ankle and even though Amber was doing everything she possibly could it just wasn’t enough. She climbed out of bed and stretched for a moment before heading out of the room towards the bedroom where Kerry was sleeping. She knew it was still rather early in the morning so when she saw that Kerry was asleep she didn’t bother to wake her. Instead she climbed into the bed next to her and curled up, she began to cry softly, and soon she came to a decision, one that would end this madness for good.
When Weaver finally awoke with Amber at her side she was a little startled but she decided not to wake Amber up, until that point she had no idea what Abby had done to Amber in the days before but when she saw the beaten woman sleeping she couldn’t bring herself to be angry. She reached over and started to stroke Amber’s hair softly, humming a song softly to herself as she did. She assumed that Romano was the one who had hurt her, and it made her wonder how Amber could love a man who treated her so badly. A few moments later Amber’s eyes fluttered open and she gasped in surprise and moved back a few inches.
“I’m really sorry Kerry you were asleep and I didn’t want to wake you and…”
“It’s okay,” Weaver whispered to her and then sighed, “Did Romano do this to you?” She motioned to the large bruise that nearly covered Amber’s thigh. Amber lifted her head slightly to look at what Kerry was pointing at.
“No, Abby beat me with your crutch.” Amber muttered not even sure that Weaver was going to believe that. Weaver sort of laughed but when she saw that Amber was being completely serious she shut her mouth. “Kerry I’m sorry but…I have a fool proof plan that is going to get us all out of here and fast.”
“Yeah that’s what Abby said to me a week ago…and we are still here.” Weaver replied half heartedly as she gazed out of the window into the morning sun. Amber sat up and pulled her legs over the edge of the bed and stood up, she shook her head slightly.
“No, I know this is going to get us out of here…” She whispered as she walked over to the window and rested her head on the cold glass, “If it doesn’t work then feel free to kill me.” Weaver rolled her eyes slightly before getting up and joining Amber by the window. It over looked the gardens in the back yard of the estate, and in the morning glow of the sun it looked like absolute paradise.
“Amber, everyone makes bad decisions and everyone deserves a second chance. No matter how hard I tried over the past few days, I couldn’t bring myself to hate you.” She put her hand on Amber’s and squeezed it slightly, “I love you…I think we were meant for each other.” Amber’s lower lip trembled slightly and she moved away from Kerry as she tried to hold back her tears.
“I love you too Kerry.” She whispered but she continued to keep her back in Weaver’s direction, “And I’m so sorry about all of this I could have stopped it but…”
“Don’t…” Weaver came up behind her and put her hand on Amber’s shoulder, Amber turned her head to look at Weaver. They stood there like that for a moment before joining in a passionate kiss, it was one of the most loving kisses she had ever had, even Romano couldn’t make her heart swell like that. From there things escalated, clothes were removed and hands started roaming, and before long they were both on the bed expressing their deepest love for one another in only a physical way can. When everything was said and done and Weaver had drifted off to sleep in Amber’s arms, Amber laid her down gently on the bed and proceeded to get dressed. She had a few things she was going to have to do to put her plan in motion, and laying by Kerry’s side was just convincing her not to do it.
That night Romano, Carter, Corday, Weaver, Susan, Abby, and Amber were joined in the same room, Romano had called a meeting and he was saying something to all of them but Amber wasn’t paying any attention to what was going on. She slowly reached down into her boot, making it look like she was scratching her leg but in actual reality she was reaching for the pistol she had stolen from Romano. It was rather small but a bullet aimed at the right part of the human body could do major damage no matter how small it was.
“And that is why I don’t give two shits about anyone in this room except for myself or Amber.” Romano concluded his little lecture, “So if you have any complaints keep them to your damn self or you’ll regret it, any questions?”
“Yeah, I have one.” Amber whispered before standing up and pulling the gun out aiming it at Romano’s head. In the past she had been trained with various guns and ammunition and now that training was going to pay off, “Will you still love me if I kill you?”
“What?”
Amber shot up in bed in a cold sweat, she was still laying next to Weaver which confirmed to her that their love making was most certainly not a dream but getting a gun and planning to kill Romano was. Kerry still had her arms wrapped around Amber but she was sound asleep, and even though Amber was shaking like a leaf it didn’t seem to bother Weaver one bit. She blinked a few tears out of her eyes and then got out of bed and walked into the bathroom where she splashed some cold water on her face and took a few deep breaths.
Another two days passed rather uneventfully, Amber would return to Kerry when Romano couldn’t please her in all the ways she needed and Susan was getting more and more out of it as time went on. It wasn’t just because she was sick it was because Romano and Carter had taken it upon them selves to use the girl who couldn’t run away or struggle as their own personal sex toy. It was late at night when Amber saw Susan again, she was laying on the bed mumbling things incoherently, and her fever had spiked to almost 103 degrees. Amber walked over and sat down by Susan, and she ran a cool damp cloth over her forehead, wondering what the hell she was going to do next.
“Amber?” Susan whispered, she didn’t open her eyes or even turn her head in Amber’s direction, her voice was so soft, so weak, “That’s you right?” Amber sighed softly and helped her sit up, even though she didn’t want to, and placed a glass of water to her lips.
“Yeah it’s me.” She replied softly but Susan refused to drink the water and she turned her head away from the glass, “Please…you have to drink something.”
“Let me die…please just let me die.” She whimpered before letting herself slide back down onto the bed, she was so weak she couldn’t curl up or even pull the blanket back over her body. Amber sighed again and put the glass of water down on the bedside table that was nearest to her and pulled the blanket up over Susan’s body.
“No I’m not going to let you die, I promised you I would get you out of here…” Amber said as she felt tears beginning to sting her eyes, she felt that if anyone of these women died it would be her fault, and it would be her fault because instead of leaving when Romano handed her the car keys she decided to stay and she could have gotten them all help.
“Get me out of here? Amber what kind of life will I have after this I know my foot is gone and the infection is spreading up my leg.” She groaned and once again turned her head so she was looking at Amber, her eyes were completely blood shot and she was incredibly pale. She had refused to eat anything over the past few days so Amber had been giving her protein shakes but then her body started to reject those and Amber was running out of options. “Every morning it’s Carter, then it’s Romano, then it’s Carter, then Romano…even if I got out of here alive I don’t think I could live with myself…and you and I both know that I only have a few days left, don’t let me suffer any more.” She blinked a few times and tears started to streak down her face, Amber felt like she was going to cry but she didn’t want to do it in front of Susan, she had to remain strong.
“Susan just hang on one more day…I promise…”
“Amber…” She closed her eyes again letting more tears spill down her cheeks, “In that box by the bed you have enough morphine…enough to send me into a peaceful death, and wouldn’t you rather that then watch me waste away for two or three more days?” Amber looked away from her for a moment, towards the box that was on the floor by the bed and she angrily wiped her tears away.
“Are you asking me to kill you Susan?” She whispered still not looking back in the other woman’s direction. There was a pause and she heard Susan start to cry even harder then she had been before, Amber bit her lip and tried so hard not to break down over this.
“Yes…I’m asking you to kill me…please…I can’t live like this any more.” with great effort she brought her hands to her face and wiped away the tears the continued to fall despite her best effort, “If you were me…wouldn’t you want me to do the same? I mean at least this way you’ll know that I went peacefully at the hands of someone I care about, and not some one like Romano.” Amber swallowed hard and picked up the box of medication and put it on her lap. She removed one of the syringes and a full vial of morphine and started to load the needle up slowly but she still wasn’t sure she could actually do this.
“This is how you want it to end? I mean…before I do this…is there anything I could do to make you more comfortable?” Amber was on the verge of tears but she wasn’t going to let them fall, and she was willing to complete any task to sooth Susan as much as she could.
“Music, Joni Mitchell, Paved Paradise…can you play that for me?” She whispered and this time when she closed her eyes she kept them closed. Amber knew she had the song on one of the CDS somewhere in the house but she didn’t think it was performed by Joni Mitchell.
“I have that song but it’s done by the…”
“Fine I don’t care if it’s a cover band I just want to hear that song okay?” She interrupted Amber’s explanation. Amber nodded and told Susan she would be right back with the CD, since it was rather late she knew that everyone would be asleep, well at least Romano and Carter would be. She then thought of something and stopped at the door and turned to look at Susan.
“Do you want me to bring anyone else in here to be with you when I do this?” She asked thinking it might be better if she didn’t have to deal with this on her own.
“No, I don’t want anyone to know until it’s finished.” She muttered and weakly pulled the blanket up to her neck, she started to shake slightly. Amber nodded and left the room to find the CD, as she headed down the hall her tears flowed more and more freely until she could barely see the floor in front of her and so she stopped. She backed into the wall and slid down it where she curled up on the floor and began to sob.
After she had composed herself she got up and quietly retrieved the CD from Romano’s room and came back in. Susan looked like she was asleep but in actuality she was just too weak to keep her eyes open for longer then she had to. Amber put the CD in the player that she had set down by the bed and started the track putting it on repeat so it would play over and over until Susan was actually gone.
“Thank you…”Susan whispered and again with great effort she moved her arm over the cover so Amber could inject her, “Will you…uh…hold my hand until I…”
“Yeah…I can do that.” Amber whispered and she put her hand over Susan’s and squeezed it gently the music playing softly in the background.
“…Don’t it always seem to go that you don’t know what you got till it’s gone?”
“Are you sure you want me to do this Susan?” Amber asked her once more after she picked up the needle and lowered it to Susan’s arm.
“Yes…I’m sure.” She whispered, Amber nodded and with shaky hands she pressed the needle into Susan’s skin and injected the lethal dose as fast as she could bring herself to do. Susan took in a deep breath and her face went from tortured to extremely peaceful in a matter of seconds, “Tell them…tell them I’m sorry…I’m sorry that I gave up.” Susan whispered Amber nodded and promised her that she would tell everyone what had happened. Slowly the grip that Susan had on Amber’s hand got more relaxed until it finally fell away at it’s own accord. Amber started to cry softly, she didn’t have to check for a pulse to know that Susan was gone. She laid down and took Susan’s hand once more and started to pray, pray for her soul, pray for Susan’s soul, pray for everyone else’s soul, and she also prayed for guidance…because she had no idea how she was going to break this news to the rest of the staff.
“Late last night I heard the screen door slam, and a big yellow taxi took my girl away, now don’t it always seem to go, that you don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone…they paved paradise and put up a parking lot…” Were the last few lines of the song Amber heard before drifting off into a restless sleep, forever now that song would have one hell of a terrible meaning to her, and she didn’t think she would ever want to hear it again.
When Amber woke up again it was three in the morning, and since she couldn’t convince herself to go back to sleep she got up and headed outside to the back yard. On her way she grabbed a shovel and a pair of gloves, she staked out a spot on the massive estate and started to dig. She knew that once Carter and Romano found out that Susan had died they would want some one to bury her and get rid of the evidence. She dug for two hours with out even thinking about taking a break, and when she finally stopped her whole body was sore, but the whole was deep enough and big enough to fit Susan’s body. She climbed out and threw the shovel to the side and headed back in covered in dirt and sweat, with a very blank expression on her face. Abby was in the kitchen making breakfast for everyone, and Amber made her way through with out so much as a word.
“Amber, why are you covered in dirt?” Abby said turning away from what she was doing and lighting a cigarette. Amber looked at her and shrugged and continued to walk, she didn’t know if she felt like telling anyone about what happened yet, “Amber…you know I’m going to find out sooner or later…did Romano make you have sex with him outside.” She snickered a bit not yet knowing the seriousness of the situation.
“Susan died last night and I was up digging her grave but I’m finished.” She muttered not taking any time to stop. Abby’s expression went blank and she raced after Amber and caught her half way down the hall.
“Susan…she…she’s dead?” Abby whispered and she felt tears starting to well up in her eyes, she barely even remember that she was still holding her cigarette, well that was until Amber took it and started to smoke.
“Yeah, she’s dead…but trust me…she’s happy.” With that she headed up the stairs to where Susan was laying to make final preparations before she carried the woman out to the yard and buried her for good. Abby stood there for a moment and started to cry, she cried harder then she ever had in her life, because for some reason losing one of them now was a sign that maybe they would never get out of there.
Amber stepped into the bedroom, and then went into the bathroom where she pulled out a container of make up and a brush. She then stopped at the dresser and pulled out a white gown, she couldn’t let anyone see Susan the way she was currently, it would break them. Before she got to work she locked the door to the bed room…she didn’t want to be disturbed.
An hour later there was a knock on the door, luckily Amber was finished she was just sitting there looking at Susan wishing that things could have been different, wishing that she could have taken the woman’s place. Amber slowly got up from the bed and walked over to the door, she unlocked it and pulled it open to see Abby, Corday, and Weaver standing there looking absolutely terrible. With out a word they entered and walked over to the body, where they just stopped and stayed silent.
“I don’t know what religion she is but…would anyone want to say a prayer or a few words or something?” Amber seemed to be the most composed of the group but that was probably because she had the whole night and part of the morning to deal with the loss. The three of them looked at her and shook their heads, it wasn’t that they didn’t have very nice things to say about Susan, it was just very hard for them to believe that she was actually dead, “Well I’m a Buddhist, and I believe that she will move on to another better life…after this she deserves nirvana.”
“Nirvana?” Corday whispered wondering what that was exactly, she had heard the term before and was pretty sure that it meant paradise or heaver, but that was only part of it.
“Yes it’s like, a higher state of being, almost perfection…where everything is beautiful and you don’t have a care in the world.” Amber replied and she stepped over to the bed too wondering how long it was going to take Carter and Romano to find that one of them had died. The continued to stay silent for a moment until Amber whispered a prayer that she knew in Japanese, even though no one had a clue as to what it meant it was very pretty. A moment later she got down and gently wrapped Susan in the white sheet she was laying on and lifted her body, she then headed back out to the yard where she intended to bury her. The three of them followed in silence, not knowing what to say, Amber didn’t mind that no one offered to help her because she thought that this was her duty since she had by all accounts killed Dr. Susan Lewis. She gently lowered Susan into the grave when she got outside and immediately started to cover the body with dirt. The other three stood there, Corday was crying rather hard and hugging Abby who was also crying, but Kerry just stood there like she was in a daze, no tears graced her cheeks at all.
“What the hell is going on out here it’s like a damn funeral.” Carter’s voice called from the doorway to the backyard. Amber was the only one who didn’t turn to look at him, she just continued to fill up the gave as she sang a prayer softly, “Are you burying some one?” Carter then asked as he approached the grave site.
“Susan died Carter…congratulations you killed her.” Abby snarled at him before shoving him out of the way and heading back into the house. Corday glared at him too before following Abby into the kitchen leaving Weaver and Amber out there to face him.
“Oh come on she had a good two days left in her…something isn’t right here.” He said almost as if he could care less that Susan was laying in a now almost completely filled grave, in his own backyard nonetheless. Weaver’s jaw dropped slightly, she couldn’t even find the words to describe the pure disgust he mad her feel at that very moment. “I’m going to go review the tapes Amber, and you better PRAY I don’t find anything bizarre on them.” He looked at his watch and decided that he had time to review the surveillance tapes before going to work.
“I don’t care if you kill me Carter.” She whispered and then got down on all fours to smooth out the dirt that now covered Susan’s body.
“No…don’t pray for yourself…how stupid do you think I am? If I kill your or even lay a hand on you Romano will have my head. Don’t pray for yourself…pray for her.” He motioned at Weaver before storming off into the house, Amber froze she was still on her hands and knees, she then moved back and sat on her heels, then she started to sob.
“Do you know something about this Amber? Something that could put me in danger?” Weaver asked and she got down next to Amber, she wasn’t angry because she was pretty sure that if Amber did have anything to do with the death of Susan, then it was completely justified. She could tell Amber was hiding something from the look on her face when Carter told her to start praying.
“I killed her because she asked me to,” Amber whispered and wiped away her tears leaving smudges of dirt on her face, “Kerry you don’t know…she was so bad…so bad…I…well I cleaned her up before any of you came in there…she was in so much pain…I just…” Weaver swallowed hard and took in a deep breath, it was clear that Amber did what she thought was right and she knew that if she would have been in Amber’s place she would have done the same thing.
“Don’t try to explain it.” Weaver whispered as she wrapped her arms around Amber’s shaky frame, “She died peacefully with some one who cared about her at her side, and I think that’s a million times better then her dying because of Romano or Carter.” She leaned in and kissed Amber on the cheek, but all Amber could think about now is what Carter was going to do with Weaver once he found out about what she had done.
“I won’t let him do anything to you…” Amber whispered and turned to look at Kerry, “I won’t let him touch you, you are going to get out of here alive and that’s it.”
“Amber please don’t do anything stu…”
‘KERRY!” She yelled and then closed her eyes and took a deep breath, “He won’t hurt you, or anyone else…this is now my problem not any of yours.” She then looked down at the mound of dirt she was sitting on and started to cry again, Weaver sighed and held Amber in her arms as the sun continued to rise over the freshly filled grave.
After going inside and taking a shower Amber walked into the kitchen and poured herself a glass of orange juice and then quickly added some vodka too it before sitting down at the table with the rest of the women. None of them felt like talking or eating, or even being alive at this point but if they were going to get out they were all going to have to work together. They had to stop being afraid of Romano and Carter and fight back, or at least that’s what Weaver thought even though she had no idea about the electrodes which had been implanted into Corday and Abby. With the push of a button he could send both of them to their knees and they were the only ones that knew that. Elizabeth and Abby had every reason to fear Romano and it was going to be very hard to stand up against him when they knew he could probably fry them from the inside out if he wanted to.
“Amber, Amber, Amber…” Carter said in an almost scolding tone of voice as he entered the kitchen holding a black video tape in his hand, “If you would have just told me what you did then maybe things would have to end they way they are going to.”
“What the FUCK are you talking about Carter?” Amber growled before downing the rest of her drink and standing up, she violently pushed the chair away from her and got ready to move just incase he decided to attack Kerry.
“It’s okay, I’ve been looking for a reason to kill her.” Carter smiled slightly and then lunged forward and pulled Kerry to a standing position and he put a knife to her neck, “If you have anything terribly important to say to Dr. Weaver then you should probably say it now.”
“CARTER DON’T!” Amber screeched, Weaver reached up and tried to pull his hand away but she was certainly no match for him, especially not with the state of mind she was in. She saw Carter press the blade into Kerry’s throat harder, drawing just a hint of blood.
“John…please…you don’t want to do this.” Kerry breathed as her eyes glanced over the shocked faces of Corday and Abby, they weren’t very sure what they were supposed to do. Then they saw Romano step into the room behind Carter and he held up the small remote he had, and mouthed the words “Don’t even think about it” to the both of them.
“LIZZIE! ABBY! COME ON WE CAN TAKE HIM!” She hadn’t yet noticed that Romano was standing in the door way because she was too busy watching Carter, she was trying to find an opening to take him down but it was just too dangerous with him holding the knife to her neck like he was.
“No, we can’t…” Corday said softly looking in the direction of Romano, Amber looked up to see Romano standing in the doorway holding something in his hand.
“Robert please, don’t let him do this…PLEASE don’t let him…” Amber pleaded looking back and fourth from Weaver to Romano desperately. He smiled sadistically but it didn’t look like he was going to stop Carter any time soon.
“If he gets rid of her then you’ll only love me.” Romano replied, Carter laughed slightly and in one quick motion he sliced Weaver’s throat open and let her fall to the ground. Amber screamed and raced over to her trying to do everything she could to stop the bleeding but she knew that it wasn’t going to do anything. Weaver couldn’t even talk at this point she was basically drowning in her own blood, and Amber sat there trying to apply pressure to wherever she could.
“Kerry, don’t do this to me please don’t do this to me.” Amber cried but by the time she said that Weaver was already dead, “NO GOD!” She screamed and pulled Weaver into her arms and held her tightly, her body rocking back and fourth in a futile attempt to comfort herself. Corday got up suddenly and raced for the bathroom because she knew she was going to be sick, and Abby relapsed into the state of shock she was in before they buried Susan.
“Oops my hand slipped.” Carter said and then walked away like what he did was no big deal, Amber continued to cry holding Weaver’s body close to hers. Her own clothes were now covered in Weaver’s blood but that was the least of her worries. Romano watched her for a moment, when suddenly she laid the body down and stood up, in a complete daze she walked over to the kitchen counter and grabbed a rather large knife.
“Amber,” Romano started looking skeptical, “What the hell do you think you are going to do to me with that…when I have this?” He pulled out a small hand gun and pointed it in Amber’s direction, she ignored it and shrugged and then walked back over to Weaver’s body where she kneeled.
“Ritual Seppuku…” She whispered, “I will die an honorable death with the one that I love.” Then with out another moments hesitation she thrust the knife into her chest between the rib cage, she then pulled it up, then back down, and then from left to right in a cross type motion. She took one last desperate gasp for air and collapsed on top of Weaver.
“AMBER!” Romano instantly forgot that he was even holding the remote of the gun and he dropped them and ran to her side. He laid her on her back but the damage the knife had done was too great, she still had a faint pulse but it was only a matter of time before she died. By moving the knife in a cross pattern she had managed to sever her lungs, stomach, throat and heart.
“I’ll see you in hell…” she coughed before her eyes went blank and then rolled back into her head, Abby then screamed in horror and took off running for the gun that Romano had set on the counter. She grabbed it and with shaky hands the aimed it at Romano.
“Give me the keys to the car and I won’t shoot you…even though I see absolutely no reason not to shoot you at this point…so you better hurry up and tell me where they are.” Abby screamed at him, Corday returned from the kitchen looking completely pale, and a thin coat of sweat lined her forehead, and that’s when she saw Amber on the floor next to Weaver, and she was bleeding out. “Oh and give me the code to the security gate…DO IT NOW!!!”
“Put the gun down Abby…haven’t you seen enough carnage?” Romano muttered as he lay Amber back onto the floor and closed her eyelids gently. Abby’s lower lip trembled and she looked to Corday who was mouthing the words “Shoot him, just fucking shoot him”. Abby closed her eyes and screamed again this time with rage and she pulled the trigger twice, only one bullet hit him right in the shoulder, which would mean he still had a chance at survival.
“The keys and the code please.” She said through clenched teeth as she approached him, he sat up and clutched the wound tightly for a moment.
“The keys are up on my dresser and the code is 2017.” He groaned, “Now get the hell out of here I don’t ever want to see your face again.” Abby nodded and looked at Corday, they both took off running to find the keys. Abby didn’t want to leave behind the bodies of Kerry and Amber but she knew that she had little choice, and she also knew that if they got out of there alive they could come back to retrieve the bodies. The only obstacle left now was getting passed Carter.
When they entered the upstairs hallway Carter was waiting for them at the doorway to Romano’s bed room, his arms were crossed and he looked positively pissed off. “I know you shot him…and if you want to get passed me you are going to have to shoot me too I’m not going to jail.” He said with complete conviction in his voice, Abby looked at Corday wondering what she was supposed to do, she most certainly didn’t want to shoot Carter.
“Listen to me John, if you let us go both Lizzie and I will pin this whole thing on Romano and you won’t have to go to jail…” Abby pleaded with him desperately, even though over the past few days he had been a complete ass she still couldn’t bring herself to shoot him, “Please Carter.” Carter looked at Elizabeth who nodded eagerly even though she had every intention of telling the police that he had killed Kerry. Carter stepped to the side and opened the door letting them in, he was willing to believe anything at this point if it was going to keep him from going to jail.
A week later the funerals of Amber and Weaver were held together in a very nice ceremony out at Amber’s would be family plot. There were five graves there reserved for her, her husband, and her kids if she ever had any but it obviously wasn’t going to work out that way. Corday stood next to Abby with tears running down her cheeks, yeah they had gotten out of there alive but at what cost? Romano was in custody and Elizabeth had no idea where Carter was, she had held off from telling the police what he did but seeing those two young women in the coffins before her made her realize that she had absolutely no reason to protect him.
When she got home that night she called the police and told them the whole story, from beginning to end, including what had happened to Susan and where she was buried in Carter’s yard. Carter was tracked down and arrested on two counts of aggravated murder, his trial is still on going, and it doesn’t look good because he has the best lawyers that money can buy.
As for Romano, he confessed to killing Amber. He thought that he should take some responsibility for what happened to her because he knew that it was his fault. With out Amber he didn’t feel like he deserved to live or be free anymore so he decided to go and turn himself in.
Finally, Abby went and saw a shrink and after a few months of therapy she began to recover so she could return to her normal life. She had said goodbye to Corday who had left to go back to England to be with her parents for a while and then started a rotation at county a few days later. After another few months she decided to take Luka up on his offer for dinner, where she told him everything that had happened to her over those seven and a half months she was missing. A few days later they were engaged and soon there after they were married. Even though Abby had a bad experience she was willing to put that behind her to start a new life, with her new love, Luka Kovach.
The End
