Liz Goodman named "Performer of the Year"

Liz Goodman, who has spent over 40 years sharing her unique talents with The Little Theatre of Danville, has been named "Performer of the Year" by her peers for the 2002-2003 season.

Liz was presented with a plaque and a commemorative cup honoring her as this past season's top performer at the annual Little Theatre picnic September 6. Liz was selected for the honor on the basis of her performance  in "The Cemetery Club".

Liz is a graduate of Agnes Scott College where she was a member of Blackfriars, the school’s acting troupe. Liz holds a Masters Degree from The University of Virginia, is a retired middle school teacher, and is currently working part-time in the Danville Public Schools as a reading tutor. She was the first chairman of Danville’s Children’s Theatre and is a long-standing member on the board of directors for The Little Theatre of Danville. Her most memorable portrayals include “Ethel Thayer” in On Golden Pond, “Daisy Werthan “ in Driving Miss Daisy, and “Amanda Wingfield” in The Glass Menagerie. Most recently Liz has been seen as “June Sanders” in Smoke on the Mountain and as “Evelyn” in two one-acts, Christmas Candy and Finding Janelle.
