Preannouncement-about 80% of the time a preannouncement is an earnings warning. A company will do this when they do not expect to meet analyst’s earnings estimates.
Prior Art-a term that refers to related knowledge or products that predate a patent. A Company could state that they believe that a patent infringement lawsuit would not prevail based on prior art.
Put option-the right to sell 100 shares of a stock at a guaranteed price before a definite expiration date.
