“A Large Number of PCNs Would Constitute a Decentralized Information
Network”
(A.K.A.: “Sending Emails”)
PinfoNet: The People’s Information Network
Architectural Overview
A PCN is a personally casted newsletter. It is the product of an author who, when active, percolates or distills a new volume of material into shortened document transmissions, as agreeably distributed amongst a collection of recipients, as drawn from the author’s first degree of associations.
Naturally, PCNs fold and navigate source information with acuity, validate information at elevated levels of trust, and well represent each involved party's time and interest.
Pinfo (pin-fo) |
Pinfo is personally held information. |
PinfoNet |
How pinfo is shared within a degree of personal association, in its level of regard, or agreement, and in some cases, privilege. |
PinfoNet Links |
Large amounts of information can be reduced to “PinfoNet links”, or information addresses placed in PCNs. Even to a public page, such a link is pinfo. |
Personal Privacy |
No personal information need be in a PCN, unless it is agreeable, or unless you are the sender, and it is your own. |
Document Size |
As a guideline, a document has a maximum size of 4 KB of text. This would be exceeded, however, by material produced out of great personal inspiration, or by material taken as optional. This document, for example, is complete with about 2 1/2 KB of text, which places it in the large half of the range. Other-sized documents place in the normal half of the range. |
Copyright Protection |
It may be desired to copy an entire, other-sourced article into a PCN document, such as to create or then possess a cached copy, but with copy-protected material, and where it could be said that the protected source material maintains itself publicly, it is a violation of that protection to violate that protection. |
Archival |
By way of popular demand, an author may maintain backup copies of his or her past broadcasts. |
Forwarding |
From one degree of association to another, PCN forwarding is where you dispatch in your PCN what you have received through another, agreeably, regarding privacy and protection between the original and forwarded parties. |
Trusted Transmissions
|
A PCN is trusted (to be received) when it is known that it will be read, once it has been received. The PinfoNet stack of pancakes includes; an email address, a subject, a message, regard, reading, agreement or disagreement, and possibly forwarding. If the subject line, at the very least, hasn’t been read, then PinfoNet has been used very little. |
Privilege / Protection |
When taken as public, a PCN may be forwarded to the globe, when taken as protected, to an agreeable collection of recipients, or when taken as private, to self, as something to be read. ;-) |
