hi,
Janeane Garofalo on Conan O'Brien manages to slip in saying "9/11 Was an Iside Job", with a nice puppy idea. Pretty sneaky, it seems. She looked a little shaky doing it. Also, a message I'm not surprised to hear from her, "Bush is the worst president of all time". Well, at least it's on Conan.

42 second youtube video:

And then I saw a T shirt idea for this... (pic attached) :-)

Anybody ever do like a 9/11 type thing before? congressman Ellis uses the example of the Reichstag fire in Germany in 1933, by Hitler, to gain the Chancellorship.

In this ABC News article, there is reference to "Operation Northwoods" from 1962, which IIRC was declassified in 2000.

U.S. Military Wanted to Provoke War With Cuba
By David Ruppe NEW YORK, May 1, 2001

"In the early 1960s, America's top military leaders reportedly drafted plans to kill innocent people and commit acts of terrorism in U.S. cities to create public support for a war against Cuba.

Code named Operation Northwoods, the plans reportedly included the possible assassination of Cuban émigrés, sinking boats of Cuban refugees on the high seas, hijacking planes, blowing up a U.S. ship, and even orchestrating violent terrorism in U.S. cities.

The plans were developed as ways to trick the American public and the international community into supporting a war to oust Cuba's then new leader, communist Fidel Castro.

America's top military brass even contemplated causing U.S. military casualties, writing: "We could blow up a U.S. ship in Guantanamo Bay and blame Cuba," and, "casualty lists in U.S. newspapers would cause a helpful wave of national indignation."

General: Al-Qaida making new cells in US

"WASHINGTON - A top U.S. military commander said Tuesday he believes there are al-Qaida cells in the United States — or people working to create them — and the military needs to triple its response teams to counter a growing threat of attack. ..."
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070725/ap_on_go_ca_st_pe/terror_threat

Hold that thought. We've got a few dominoes to consider.
1) Since 9/11 we have been in a state of war.
2) Halliburton has built detention camps in the US for "emergency purposes" to the tune of a $378 million congressionally funded and approved contract.
3) Dick Cheney's office gave orders to the DoD for an aerial strike upon Iran in the event of ANY domestic terror attack upon the US.
3) Iran has a special force of 40,000 terrorists, or IEDs, for foreign dispatch.
4) In the event of a domestic terror attack, the United States will conduct an aerial strike upon Iran. If it's al qaida, then there's no stopping them now, except national defense.
5) It is within Iran's realm of potential to respond with terrorists. I can heart Dick Cheney saying that.
6) The people of the united states will ask their government for protection.

By our laws, I think we are presently in a kind of "constitutional dictatorship", in light of the most recent presidential additions to the constitution. It has come to my understanding recently that the judicial branch cannot usurp the executive in a time of war, so impeachment is not really allowed; the president would have to be indicted for a crime.

Well, that's all very interesting. I strongly suggest to consider that I have no real idea as to just exactly how I would respond to all of this. It's got a series of moves in it, so I don't know what's going to happen.

Russian News - "father of reaganonics says..."

This is from the Russian News and Information Agency, "Novosti". Nice to see they don't skimp on some kinds of news. Right now, this is their 2nd most popular article. :-)

White House preparing to stage new September 11 - Reagan official
http://en.rian.ru/world/20070720/69340886.html

"WASHINGTON, July 20 (RIA Novosti) - A former Reagan official has issued a public warning that the Bush administration is preparing to orchestrate a staged terrorist attack in the United States, transform the country into a dictatorship and launch a war with Iran within a year.

Paul Craig Roberts, a former Assistant Secretary of the Treasury, blasted Thursday a new Executive Order, released July 17, allowing the White House to seize the assets of anyone who interferes with its Iraq policies and giving the government expanded police powers to exercise control in the country.

Roberts, who spoke on the Thom Hartmann radio program, said: "When Bush exercises this authority [under the new Executive Order], there's no check to it. So it really is a form of total, absolute, one-man rule."

"The American people don't really understand the danger that they face," Roberts said, adding that the so-called neoconservatives intended to use a renewal of the fight against terrorism to rally the American people around the fading Republican Party.

Old-line Republicans like Roberts have become increasingly disenchanted with the neoconservative politics of the Bush administration, which they see as a betrayal of fundamental conservative values.

According to a July 9-11 survey by Ipsos, an international public opinion research company,
President Bush and the Republicans can claim a mere 31 percent approval rating for their handling of the Iraq war and 38 percent for their foreign policy in general, including terrorism.

"The administration figures themselves and prominent Republican propagandists ... are preparing us for another 9/11 event or series of events," he said. "You have to count on the fact that if al Qaeda is not going to do it, it is going to be orchestrated."

Roberts suggested that in the absence of a massive popular outcry, only the federal bureaucracy and perhaps the military could put constraints on Bush's current drive for a fully-fledged dictatorship.

"They may have had enough. They may not go along with it," he said.

The radio interview was a follow-up to Robert's latest column, in which he warned that "unless Congress immediately impeaches Bush and Cheney, a year from now the U.S. could be a dictatorial police state at war with Iran."

Roberts, who has been dubbed the "Father of Reaganomics" and has recently gained popularity for his strong opposition to the Bush administration and the Iraq War, regularly contributes articles to Creators Syndicate, an independent distributor of comic strips and syndicated columns for daily newspapers. Bombing Iran for Jesus

Max Blumenthal tried to go into the annual Washington Israel summit, with CUFI, "Christians United for Israel". The religious right joining with the existing Pro-Israeli lobbies makes a more powerful union. I actually have an old video from some Reagan people talking about this great clash of civilizations, between Western Civiliation and the Muslims/Arabs. Now I guess I finally get the details!

"On July 16, I attended Christians United for Israel's annual Washington-Israel Summit. Founded by San Antonio-based megachurch pastor John Hagee, CUFI has added the grassroots muscle of the Christian right to the already potent Israel lobby. Hagee and his minions have forged close ties with the Bush White House and members of Congress from Sen. Joseph Lieberman to Sen. John McCain. In its call for a unilateral military attack on Iran and the expansion of Israeli territory, CUFI has found unwavering encouragement from traditional pro-Israel groups like AIPAC and elements of the Israeli government... " http://www.huffingtonpost.com/max-blumenthal/rapture-ready-the-unauth_b_57826.html

I typed up most of the exchanges in the (10 minute) video of Blumenthals at the summit here... --------------------------------
Max Blumethal: "What brings you to CUFI?"

Tom Delay: "Well, I was in on the ground floor, I worked with John and Dianna Hagee for many years, on many projects."

Blumethal: "How inspiriational is the second coming?" Tom Delay: "Obviously, it's what I live for, and I hope it comes tomorrow. And obviously, we have to be connected to Israel, to enjoy the second coming of Christ. "

Blumethal notes: "...CUFI lobbies congress for an expansion of Israeli territory and a unilateral military attack on Iran."

Hagee in the pulpit: "Support the people of Israel today, tomorrow, and forever, until the messiah comes."

Attendant: "Basically I believe that you have to embrace Israel as part of the second coming."

(What happens to the Jews?)
Attendant: "... when the battle of armaggedon is over, and they come out of hiding, and they see him, and he tells them who he is, they say who is this? The Jews accept Christ as a nation then, and they are restored".
Attendant: "The Jews are God's chosen people, but they will, I mean they have to be witness to this like anybody else. There is only one way to heaven, and that's in John, 14:6."

Attendant: "Thats the battle of armageddon. Its the believers against the non believers. It's the christians against the anti-christians."
Blumethal: "Are you looking forward to armaggedon?'
Attendant: "I definately am."

Blumethal: "So you're looking forward to armaggedon?"
Attendant: "I'm looking forward to armageddon, and I'm looking forward to the cleansing of the earth."

Blumethal: "Are you guys looking forward to the rapture?"
Attendant(s): "Amen, amen" "I got a bag packed."
Blumethal: "Can I get your car when it happens?"
Attendant(s): "You can have everything I own when it happens." "That'll be the last of your worries." "When we dissappear you'd better start to worry, because if you haven't seen the Left Behind series, it's scary."
Blumethal: "Really?"
Attendant(s): "Yes"...
Blumethal: "The one with Kurt Cameron, from Growing Pains?"
Attendant(s):"I don't remember."

Blumethal is now "hounded by PR agents"...
Blumethal: "I'm just trying to clarify what you're saying... We should not ask questions about the end times...?"
Alison Crisci/Kara Silverman (5WPR PR Agents): "No you can ask that, just not right now". "We're not here to talk about conversion or prostelytizing, and we want that message to be clear (evangelical Christians supporting Israel)."

Blumethal: "So do you think these are good allies for Israel?"
Attendant: "Definately"
Blumethal: "Why?"
Attendant: "Because people really care about bringing peace to the Middle East."

(There's gonna be a peace treaty?)
Attendant: "Oh, there's gonna be a peace treaty, but that's a false treaty. Eventually, when the lord comes back, that'll take care of it."

Attendant: "The one who forces Israel into a peace treaty with the Arabs is the one you have to watch out for."
Blumethal: "Is the beast?"
Attendant: "Right."

Attendant: "It says, you know, they stand there, and their bones will be standing there flush and their eyes will knock out of their sockets. That was prophesized way before we even started over here, and you know, that's the bombs, the atomic bombs."
Blumethal: "The atomic bombs from Iran?"
Attendant: "Well, nuclear, could be from anybody."

From the pulpit, with John Hagee... "Therefore it is time for America to embrace the words of Senator Joseph Lieberman, and consider a military preemptive strike against Iran to prevent a nuclear holocaust in Israel...."

(Liebermann speaks a bit, basically worshipping Hagee. Rick Santorum is recognized and applauded)

Attendant: "But another reason why we support Israel, we have a common enemy. The muslim."

Attendant: "The Koran is a false, it's absolutely not the word of God."

Attendant: "we are fighting what is behind the Muslim people, which is Satan. Because Satan is the one who is actually the one trying to detroy the Jewish race. Because that is what would destroy God's plan."

Attendant: "And what will happen is, Israel and the Western World, in order to save our type of civilization, have got to fight the Muslim, and if we don't take out Iran one way or another, if we move out of Iraq, the Muslims are gonna take over, and they're going to follow us here."

From the Pulpit: "Makes your checks payable to CUFI.. Christians United for Israel."

(And so forth... When Blumethal asked Hagee about whether or not he had written of the Jews being responsible for their own persecution, it appears PR didn't take nicely to it, and so he and his people had to leave. In fact, some off-duty DC police arrived to help get it done.)

Apparently, these people were actually quite enthusiatic about the 2nd coming of Christ, even though they were really just evangelicals in support of Israel, of wiping out the last of Palestine, and of leveling Iran.
