Golfing In Ireland

Ulster

Ulster is located in the North of Ireland. It has the most courses per capita in the country. They are generally of excellent quality with many world class links. Prices are slightly higher and the weather slightly cooler. Be aware though that technically a large portion of the North is British so you may need sterling. Most places however will accept Irish currency.

Extremely hilly. It helps if you have one leg shorter than the other on this course. I can virtually guarantee that you will not get a level lie.  If you slice the ball this is the place to play. With the exception of No. 8 & 9 the ball will be above your feet thus eliminating your tendency to go right.  Overall this course is not great. It's fairly short and the greens are a bit hairy, but the fairways and tee boxes are in great shape. Also it has fantastic views over Muckno Lough and that fact makes it worth a look if you have time to spare. Otherwise forget it.
