Empty Service Station
There is nothing really remarkable about this empty service station on Broadway Blvd. in Tucson AZ, but the clean lines and clear lighting somehow struck me as I drove by so I jumped out of the car and snapped a few photos with my Minox C set on Automatic. These were shot on Kodak Techpan film rated at 80ASA and developed in Photographer's Formulary TD-3. This subject matter would probably have been rendered slightly better had I developed the film in Rodinal+sodium sulfite, but since the rest of roll was "people pictures" I chose to develop it in TD-3. In general I find that Rodinal gives slightly sharper images and is best suited for inanimate objects while TD-3 is better suited for portraiture since it is yields lower contrast and finer grained negatives.
In person these prints are astonishingly fine grained which is not captured at all in the these low rez JPEGed images.
