The Fifth Wheel Cafe
I took these photos over ten years ago, but only now got around to making prints... I believe that these were shot hand-held with a 50mm lens wide open at f1.8 and a shutter speed of about 1/20 of a second. They were taken on Tri-X film developed in D-76. I was passing through Benton Harbor Michigan and stumbled on this place. The owner looked at me funny when I asked if I could photograph him in his restaurant but he said he didn't mind. His best friend never turned around or said a word. I imagine that the place is gone now.
