Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)
What you can do to enhance realism

1. What can I do to enhance realism?

*** USE REAL LIFE FLIGHTINFORMATION ***

First thing you can do to help us playing this game realistic, is to use realistic callsigns. You can find up-to-date flight information on the homepage of Schiphol Airport. Choose for Flight Information and view the most specific details about arriving and departing flights. You may select your airline from here and view the flightnumber, gate and type+a/c registration.

View real life and up-to-date Flight Information at http://www.schiphol.nl

*** USE VOICE ***

Secondly, use voice. We know the quality is a bit poor sometimes but it helps to make things more realistic. In the Dutch VACC, Roger Wilco is commonly used. Roger Wilco is free to download, however you need to get a free license number in order to use it for longer than 15 mins. For all information, latest versions and technical support, visit the site of Resounding Technologies.

*** USE CHARTS ***

We cannot really say it often enough. Use charts please. If you don't have them, there are several ways to get them.

1. Download them for free in Adobe Acrobat-format at the site of the Dutch VACC
2. SimCharts is a software package from Jeppesen which includes most Jeppesen charts of each airport in the world. Schiphol is (of course) included in the European edition of SimCharts. More information at the Jeppesen Website.
3. For the real diehards, who like to have the original charts on Jeppesen format, you may contact any Jeppesen dealer of your country. Visitors who live in the Netherlands can pay a visit to the Luchtvaart Hobby Shop in Aalsmeerderbrug. They sell a complete package for only FL 17,50. Additionally they sell enroute charts from both Jeppesen (2nd hand only for FL 2,50) as well as DOD (Department of Defense).

2. How do I find actual, real life, flight information and how can I use it here?

Have a look at the above mentioned site http://www.schiphol.nl.

3. What voice program is generally used within the Dutch VACC?

The (free) voice program Roger Wilco is used within the Dutch VACC.

4. How can I use Roger Wilco on Amsterdam Airport Schiphol?

Most of the time, Dutch VACC controllers use the SATUK server for voice communications. This server has an IP address of 193.130.4.110. Since this server allows you to add any desired channel behind the IP address, there is an easy-to-understand list of IP address for use with Roger Wilco:
