Under 11s On Tour in Dublin

Brighton RFC under 11's embarked on their annual tour, and this year the destination was Dublin, Ireland.

14 players took part in two games over the weekend; the first game was against Barnhall RFC.  This turned out to be a very feisty and physical game under floodlights the result of the game doesn't reflect the intensity of the competition ,however Brighton came away winning 40 points to  15 for Barnhall.

On Saturday, the boys had no game so we went off to Phoenix park with a rugby ball and some over enthusiastic dads, by the time we returned in to the centre of Dublin we were minus one of the dads, as he was checking out the efficiency of the Irish health system!

On Sunday we had an early start and we drove out to the foot of the Dublin mountains, to play against De La Salle Palmerston RFC (DLSP).  DLSP, are to play in the London Irish festival at the end of the season so it was arranged that we would play to English continuum rules. A rousing team talk from his hospital bed from coach Neil (Nelson) Thomas gave the boys the boost they needed, and Brighton carved out another win this time by 55 points to 5 for DLSP.

This was a fantastic tour, and the hospitality of the Irish is second to none.  A big thank you  must go to both rugby clubs who hosted Brighton RFC over the weekend, we hope we can return the favour one day.
