Hello...and welcome to my exciting life. Every so often I'll tell you another story, truly frightening tales. Tales so true they could, well, okay, they're true, and that's about all I got to say about that. They may be boring, but hey, it's my life, okay? (as usual, all material copyright by me, etc) |

In which you get to put faces to some of the names
First of
all, as featured before on the website, this is me and Mike at the first annual
Detroit Electronic Music Festival. Four
stages, lots of music, dancing kids, tattoo booths, stuff for sale, and
glowsticks a-plenty.
Here is my daughter Sidney. This picture was just taken in October of
2003 at a class play. The kids performed
“The Very Fierce Mouse” (I think that’s the right title), and
she got to be the narrator. I was unable
to attend, but I think the picture shows how much she enjoyed having that
microphone.
Sidney and I have taken two trips
together so far. Both trips have been to
Cleveland, Ohio, and she had just as much fun as I did. Regardless of the infamous reputation that city
has, it is really a wonderful city, very clean and a joy to walk around in. And hot dog vendors! She and I both got a kick out of
that...nothing better than a steamy dog on a city bench with a bag of chips and
some pop, and nowhere in particular to go.
This view is looking back at the city from the waterfront (right outside
the science center).
While there, I was able to splurge a
little on accomodations, so the first trip we got a suite at the Embassy
downtown. It was cold on that first
trip, so we drove around the city quite a bit to get around. Our last time there it was very warm, so we
stayed downtown again and just walked everywhere. That worked out well, and we really got to
know our way around. The concierge at
the hotel also recommended a place for chicken wings (The Winking Lizard...I’m
not making this up), but the place wasn’t that great. The wings were way too greasy, and they put
the wrong sauce on mine.
This picture was taken right outside
the Great Lakes Science Center. That’s
Sidney sitting on an old NASA rocket, and that’s Cleveland Browns Stadium
behind her.
The lake is right behind the GLSC (just
to my right, from the picture above).
This picture was taken on our first trip (the chilly one), looking out
at the bay. The second time we walked
out there a little further and watched the sun set over the water.
And lastly, we passed this cool
Corvette Stingray on the drive back home on the second trip. When I was little, I had a Stingray Matchbox
car. That was one of my favorites, it was
so cool, but mine was metallic silver.
This one is white, but it still has the split rear window. Nostalgia.
