On 30 march 2001, the Queen announced the engagement of Willem Alexander and Maxima Zorreguieta.

Afterwards, the newly engaged couple gave a press conference, on which Maxima answered in dutch.

While they went to the house of Willem Alexander, which is next to the Palace Noordeinde, they talked with a lot of public outside.

I bet a lot of people did not wash their hands that evening.
