The text reads: The Sid Presley Experience (Academy, Sun &
Dingwalls,
Tue) are self-described as 'the sound of frustration' by lead singer Peter
Coyne. Four very angry young men, playing extremely tight and aggressive
rock music in its most attractive form. No posturing, no posing, just
plenty of sussed social comment by smart suits and floppy haircuts. This
is the sound of Sarf London, and everything about it, from the sharp Coyne
brothers on vocals and bass, Del Bartoe[sic] on very grown-up guitar, and
baby Kevin Murphy thrashing the drums, is so smooth, so clean, you want to
move to the other side of the River immediately. And the name? Well the
group consider it a challenge to live up to -- are you experienced? With
a double A-side single -- "Hup Two Three Four" "Pulic Eneemy No. 1" -- due
imminently on ID Records, the Presley boys look set for something
big. (Lindsay Shapero)
