A MAN THAT NEVER COULD BEEN...
What exactly trifles a man's wisdom?
What blunt fury could excite a man's wiles...
What nomadic heart best describes a man's constitution...
What blatant impetus could a man suffers in perpetuity...

COUNTER-TERRORISTS WIN!
Dandal, Erika ABSTRACT This is a qualitative study on the play culture of network gaming. It aims to explore the basic elements of culture such as the individual meanings, shared meanings and interaction among network gamers. It also attempts to compare the network gamers' individual meanings with their shared meanings. Finally, it describes how the network gamers interact with the members of their own playgroup and non-playgroup. The basic concept of play culture and its elements are based from Mead's theory of Symbolic Interactionism, suggesting three important elements in understanding a social act: the society or group, the self and mind. The primary data were collected through Focus Interviews, and Observation focusing on the interaction, specifically the manifest play behaviors of the informants. This study used purposeful sampling, particularly the typical case sampling. Want a copy of this? CONTACT AUTHORS |
