Catindig, Pamela ABSTRACT A Quantitative Assessment on Parent Influence on Household TV Consumption This study examines the aspects of family life, particularly the presence of control imposed by parents of respondent-families on their children's media consumption, particularly television. Socio-demographic variables of the parents, namely: educational level, occupation and number of working hours were related using the Chi-Square test of independence and Spearman Rho, to the extent of control and decision-making they enforce on their children's media use.
