"Oh, my Lord, what is this!" he said.
I thought you took pity on me.
And now here it is raining again,
Lord, I thought You loved your Timothy."

Suddenly, he heard the Lord speak:
"Did you think I'd stop the rains for good,
and hurt the people, gardens and trees,
now whatever made you think that I would?

I answered your prayer, Timothy,
and I stopped the rain for you.
But you never patched your roof,
which is what I expected you to do.

Now, this is just a shower,
and soon it is going to clear.
And you had better get busy,
before the next rains appear."

And lo, a wiser Timothy
heeded what the Lord had to say.
He quickly gathered up some thatch,
and fixed his roof that very day.

And for the rest of his life,
whatever he asked God to do,
Timothy did as best  he could,
to do his bit and to pitch in, too.
