Guidelines: Who Can Wear What By Link

Now that lots of people have been promoted, I know that everyone will all want new clothing. So, I wanted to let everyone know what kinds of clothing they can have based on their rank, status and favor. This is the basic standard guideline.

11th link: Guests with no status
Everyday:

10th & 9th link: Honored Guests, Civil Servants, etc.

NOTE: SILK fabrics are controlled by the sumptuary laws and therefore can only legally be worn by members of the Court. Members of the court are Courtiers, Knights, Lords and Ladies. Those with high titles but not actual courtier status do NOT qualify. These fabrics are customarily reserved for those of knightly rank or higher. If wished, courtiers may request these fabrics from Mistress, should she feel like favoring them.
These fabrics include: satin, damask, silk, jacquard, challis, samite, and moire

Everyday Articles: As they wish (surcoats, pelices, etc are for this rank and above. May, at discretion be given as fancy for lower ranks who hold Courtier status)
Fancy Articles: As they wish


5th Link: Collegium Heads, Master of Court of Honor, etc.

Colors: As they wish.
Fabrics: As they wish
Fancy fabrics: lizardskin ermine-fur velvet silverweave goldweave iridescent diaphanous glassweave
Everyday Articles: As they wish
Fancy Articles: As they wish


NOTE: Velvet, fine furs, cloth of silver, gold, or glass, iridescent, and diaphanous are controlled by the sumptuary laws, and therefore may be worn legally only by those of noble blood. (IE: Lord, Lady, Prince, Queen and/or 4th link+) Gifts are the exception to this rule, but must be tightly reserved. (see below)

NOTE: Dyers are expected to conform to the Capitulary provided by the wisdom of Her Majesty, which forbids the public display of any item dyed with the shade of blue known as CERULEAN except by certain members of the Royal Court. (IE: The Royal family and those they gift items of that color to.)

NOTE: Restricted items may be worn by those not of the appropriate rank/status, if they are given as gifts to the guest in question. It is strongly suggested that these items be appropriately worn and cared for. (IE: Queen Vivienne giving out velvet clothings to participants of the Poets convocation. Valet Valrich giving out brocade and velveteen to the Dance Academy for their performances.)
