He went crazy and eventually wound up in a coma (note that my original fic killed him off... if you remembered that on your own, good for you, but I'm declaring it didn't :P), but he's back now and he's apparantly clinically depressed and mortally afraid of doing anything psychic because he thinks he'll go crazy again.
